Lavioe translation:

I think this has more to do with the @CANUCKS as it seems obvious that a big name will be traded. A transaction that will obviously also involve one or more players from Abbotsford. ⬇️

Feels like maybe something is close?

why would we include prospects to move miller or pettersson?

I've pitched EP +picks/filler for Dobson + Barzal over the last couple seasons, and if that actually goes down, you all owe me five dollars.

USD
This is a rare Pettersson trade I'd actually do lol.

But the big problem is still Miller is on borrowed time. "Miller needs a reset" is the only thing that's actually happened amid the rumour mongering and should loom large in everyone's minds. Trading Pettersson doesn't resolve that. I can't shake my belief Miller is firmly on the Kesler-tract sooner than later.

Not sure it makes sense come 2026 to have acquired Dobson if the team managed to keep Wallinder. Then you are more than loaded at the RHD spot. I get it for the here and now, but 2 years down the line, probably not.

But, comes down to the timeline that management believes they can really compete in.

I don't think the news is necessarily Mason reporting on anything new, but that he wrote an article at all about the alleged feud. He's not a typical NHL insider whose career depends on being a good boy to get leaks or making outrageous allegations to grab attention, he largely writes about politics and has access to the Aquilinis out of a lifetime of journalistic reputation.

So I'd take Mason's article as a confirmation of the current state of affairs - management is indeed shopping either Miller or Pettersson (maybe both) and they'd rather pull the trigger within the season instead of waiting. It's possible Blueberries told Rutherford/Allvin to sort it out but I don't think it's why the article was written.

There is some confirmation in there for sure, but most of that has been largely confirmed previously (most recently by Tocchet and Hughes basically). And I dunno if I'd take it as that firm on the trade ... assuming ownership is involved I read it more as "if your little feud costs me playoff gate revenue one or both of you are being traded." So fix it quick, or we'll fix it for you.

It’s crazy.

Not sure why JT would have issues with a defenseman in Abby.
Kid brought him a non fat dairy free double pump expresso latte when he was supposed to bring a non fat dairy free triple pump espresso latte.

Well, the Abby d-man is named Elias Pettersson as well.....maybe Miller just hates the name?
That's the first time you've made a post that I thought a real person was behind it.

I would 100% keep EP over JT if I were GM, but I would really question Allvin/JR's abilities if they ended up trading JT instead. They clearly like JT more than EP, and they hired a coach that is more JT's style. If they traded JT they still have a player that they don't 100% see fitting into their preferred style of paly. It wouldn't make sense, IMO

Miller is a gruff, miserable-to-play-against alpha male who strides around the locker room like he owns it. He’s never been shy about expressing his opinions. Pettersson is soft-spoken and outwardly shy. He plays the centre position with an extremely high level of skill but gritty he is not. At times, he’s been exceedingly easy to knock off the puck and his skates. Soft may be too harsh a word to describe his game, but it wouldn’t be too far off. Miller plays hockey with grit and fire and determination. You can see how watching Pettersson play would drive him crazy.
This reads like a romance novel.

Frankly the Canucks aren't getting prime Petterrson and are paying him a fortune. Petey should be 90+ point per season, no problem, when he's going. Injured right now but often this season he looks totally disengaged.

If you can move him for Barzal + Dobson (with an ad from the Nucks) I think you do it. Even if Petey goes right back to 100 points for the Islanders it helps the Canucks on defense and the forward core stays where it is now, mainly.

If you’re gonna trade Petey, Barzal would be one of the few realistic targets that make sense even if his peak isn’t as high as Petey’s since he’s not a great scorer. Would be fun seeing him play with Hughes since they share some similar abilities but also having 1 of them on the ice for most of the game would also be a viable option since both can really control play.

Miller for Barzal would be even better though

I don't see Tocchet loving Barzal, and I don't expect the team would want him a 2C, given how often they talk about being hard to play against.
