There are also rumors that the Canucks could receive Lafrenière and a 1st-round pick in the deal as well.

1) It’s a hold over from old site rules. The forum used to struggle when threads got too long. I just followed Mr. C’s example of starting a new thread. I don't wanna trade Miller but I'd do that deal.

But I'm also a fan of Laf and I know some aren't.

Im hesitant to believe we could get Laf 1 for 1 let alone a 1st or middling prospects included truly.

If laf is available, hes the best asset your going to recieve so ya it would already be done im sure, position be damned.

My opinion on the matter is there isn't a single trade that we can make that involves trading Miller and improving in the short term. Which is why I've been advid in saying I don't wanna trade him. However if we do trade him I simply want value and Laf provides enough value to make me happy at least. Obviously still lots of work to be done even if that trade happened.

I think everyone here needs to understand if Miller is gone then it signals a retool on the fly and you can kiss the short term winning aspirations goodbye. Which long term may be the correct move.

Short term: you lose the Miller trade, he’s a top 10 center when he plays well.

Long term: you potentially win, but do you wait that long and potentially lose Hughes to NJ?

That's fair, but i just feel like if you make a JT Miller trade, 1 absolutely crucial requirement is get Pure Futures (With top prospect) Or a top 4 D / Center with youth.

If we go full futures, we load up next year, use cap to grab a C as a UFA, and move forward with prospect + picks to improve top 4 D
