Are any of you Finns and Swedes going to call in sick to work and watch the game instead? Maybe the better question would be that are any of you guys not going to call in sick? As a student I am happy I can plan my own schedule and study whenever I want to.

Unemployed right here. :D

Haha, I wonder how many employers are going to hear the "I'm sick, I can't come to work" -excuse tomorrow.

My strategy has been the following:

Watch game #1 which starts at 22:00. It should last to somewhere around 00:25. After the game, go to bed.

Skip game #2

Wake up for game #3 at 07:00.

?????

Profit
Dude, you'll miss Canada-USA. I'm planning to watch all 3, but due to some serious lack of sleep, I'll probably pass out somewhere in the night. Why the hell, do they have to put the biggest games on a same night.

Finland all the way! :yo:

Replacing Miettinen with Immonen was great move by Jalonen. Now all the lines look balanced.

Man oh man, this is going to be great game. Too bad swedes will lose ;)

This day will really be the ultimate test. Having the worst sort of hangover, having a cold, and watching 3 awesome games in a row... I really need to stock up on coke, junkfood and lots of candy just to stay awake :O

Pekkanen as planned 3 months ago :naughty:

Probably stay up for all the games, have done it many times for NHL games, these games are all definetely worth a nights sleep

EDIT: Also, yay, all games are broadcasted in Yle2, meaning they are all also in Yle HD. Was really pissed when Finlands first game was in FST5 in SD

I am excited, I just hate the start time. It's gonna be 1 am before it starts. But so was the last one and it wasn't a big problem. Hopefully from this game on the rest will start a bit earlier.

This. We got "your" winterstorm last night and it was ****ing horrible, -20C plus hurricane winds with snow was the worst night since my army days. Thank god this time I had king alcohol to help it through. Unlike army times.

If Finland loses we'll end up against Canada, if Sweden loses they're going to end up against Switzerland. I don't care how the points work at this point, but it will happen.

A match that Swedes and Finns would love to see. Not very considerate to place it on a monday morning :(

I will not be able to see this match or the replay on tv. I have to avoid the radio all day, bookmark SVT play to avoid SVT's first page which surely has the result.

I hope someone I come across during the day doesn't suddenly blurt out the result.

Unfortunately I will miss Canada - USA too and I suppose no replay on SVT play

****ing start times... why can't they make it 5 am or something? I could've watched it before work, but now I can't...

Suck ass, but the Finns probably lose anyway, so I won't miss much... :(

If the more important games start at 7 am, I'm going to be really ****ing pissed off...

In the morning I should send a message to my friend that I have a headache. :naughty:

But winterolympics are once in 4 years! Three fabulous games in about 11 hours! I must go now to buy Coke and energydrinks! I'm so enthuse! :handclap:

Wilson did the proper line changes.

Lets see if this Pejorative Slured sweden coach puts somebody skilled with the sedins

aka alfie or fransen

Alfredsson already played the last 3 shifts with Sedins in Sweden's Game #2, so it's my educated guess that they'll form the top line when the official lineups are released.

Time for payback. The stakes are insanely high for this game, gotta get some points at the very least.

Interesting fact: Finland has never beaten Sweden in Olympic contention outside Japanese soil.

The player I fear most on team Sweden is Jonathan Franzen. Normally I'd say Forsberg but I haven't seen the same fire in those wolves-eyes of his this tournament.

Mule Franzen is kind of like a hybrid of Mats Sundin and Tomas Holmström. I have to admit I like the player type he represents with that Mats Sundinian bull-in-a-china-shop-without-breaking-any-china quality when roaming about in the offensive zone combined with the admirable willingness of Holmström to stand in front of the net.

And he is a clutch goalscorer too, it would be rather typical if he replaced Sundin, now that we finally got rid of him, as Finland's number one tormentor.

The Finns also need to keep their head up when Kronwall is on the ice, he has delivered about two solid Kronwall hits per game so far.

And you can't forget about Henrique, "the King of Manhattan", when he is on he is impossible to score on.

There really is no time to sleep, I'll probably try to catch some after the Russia-Czech game but will for sure watch Canada-USA . That game will most likely be a classic so there is no chance of getting any sleep before the Finland-Sweden game with all the adrenaline still pumping trough your system.

I think Finland takes this one, 2-1 in OT.

I personally don't like the line changes Jalonen made for the Finnish lines for this game. Somebody here said earlier that now they look more balanced... I see Jarkko Immonen to be more of a risk than a balancing player. He could work out well and of course I hope so, but...

Miettinen has been in the shadows for the past two games, that's true for sure, but it is NOT because Miettinen would be a bad player. It's just that the whole third line has sucked 5-on-5, both Hagman and Jokinen on the other hand have rocked on PP but on different PP lines, so neither do two of them have any chemistry together.

And I see it so that we're not getting full potential from line 1 either. M. Koivu and T. Ruutu are working great together but gifted Filppula isn't a fit with them. First line is functioning at maybe 75% efficiency right now.

Okay so we have first line that is working partially and third line that isn't working at all. We all know Filppula is a clever player and we all know that Miettinen has played a lot with M. Koivu at Minnesota, so...

The natural change would be to move Miettinen to first line, and then the first line would be built of two pairs that have great chemistry together, Miettinen - M. Koivu -pair of Minnesota and M. Koivu - T. Ruutu pair of Finnish national team.

Then we'd move Filppula to line 3 and hope that his cleverness would make the third line a working combination.

Simply put, I just don't understand how Immonen is going to add something to line 3 and why isn't Jalonen addressing the issue in line #1.

The game starts at midnight for me so I'm going in to work late, I have a "doctor's appointment"

It's downright Pejorative Slured to put all these big games on the same night and on a sunday night on top of that.

Sweden's biggest opponent is BÃ…G, who continues to refuse to coach. All he'll do against Finland is start to actually try to create PP lines, nothing else has changed. He thinks "the lines look fine."
