Shouldn't Aho get the assist for Teuvo's goal? Or is it because it went off of a Latvian player that there's no assists?

I thought so too. Isn’t it so that only then assists are not given if the own goal goes in so that the unlucky player has the puck in his possession shortly and it goes into the goal from that? Or am I just wrong with this?

Another easy one. Aho and Teuvo are just too good for the weaker teams. Husso looked sharp in the net despite this one goal allowed. First line has skill & speed but lacks chemistry a bit. Granlund seems like he kinda forgot how to play center (what might be understandable given his recent performances as a winger in Minny). Plus, maybe Kappy and Rants indeed shouldn't play together, as history tells us. Or it has been simply a bad luck for them in these two games, who knows.
Among forwards Manninen sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't mean to criticize him but he looks lost out there. As for defence, today Pokka played way better while Honka wasn't in his best shape. Day-off now and back to work on Tuesday.

Well, true enough but it's pretty much always like this - usually (though not for couple of last years) Finland is a totally different team against the big countries with really tight defense and the sloppiness and frustration against the weaker teams is forgotten. These sort of flowing hockey porn games though are actually quite unprecedented for us...

well, it is not like even if we won 8-1, anyone would put us among elite teams, so our status is kinda set in stone. everyone seem to be too snobbish to care beyond top 5-7 teams anyway.
