What young players? Zacha is the only one. Young players would first need to be invited to be able to decline, which is not happening.

Honestly, I don't see many young players who would boost this team. Hájek is injured. Zadina's season has been nothing special. Maybe Nečas? The others don't have the required quality yet (Kaut...). Chytil is struggling a little bit at this tournament, but I believe they will find a spot on the QF lineup for him.

The Austrians scratch some of their best forwards: Michael Raffl, Komarek, Schneider. They are obviously focusing on the tomorrow's game against Italy, which will be decisive for them. Expect a smooth Czech win today, the Austrians don't have the motivation to fight hard.

I would put Kaut, Chytil, Zadina, Spacek, Kase and Frk all ahead of the Zohorna Brothers. Necas is unavailable so I won't include him.

Coincidentally, I'd put Sulak miles ahead of Moravcik but I've never looked what hand he is as we have one side that is Gudas, Rutta and Hronek and the other side that is weaker... maybe he is on our strong side?

I say this as a compliment - I haven't noticed Kolar at all. Can't rememer one mistake. He's just quietly going about his game. Great pass to Faksa... better shot! I hope Faksa finds some scoring. I don't expect a .ppg or anything but he does have more offence in him. The guy I'd really like to see score is Palat!

Palat on line 4? Chytil benched. I honestly am not sure what they're doing with Francouz. Are they running the table with him? Or will they make Bartosak play the Swiss? Then he will have played the Swiss, Russians and Swedes while Francouz will have played Austria and Italy. Then they'll start Francouz in quarters because he has better numbers? I only mention it because that is exactly what happened last season!

The holding calls (and non-calls) this year have been brutal

I will need to read the IIHF rule book again... I have no idea what constitutes holding to these refs sometimes.

Edit - not to take away anything from the current call. I have just seen this numerous times in the prior games and it went uncalled

How are Czech guys playing? Gave Nadal - Djokovič privilege this time.

Boring period... we keep taking poor penalties so Austria has been on the powerplay a lot. While typing, Kubalik just scored a gorgeous goal. Looked more like Lindros than Kubalik!

The reffing has been awful this tournament. I think they might just be making it up at this point.

Good news, Moravčík is not the only one taking dumb penalties.

Did anyone see what Hronek did? That was an awful call. That is 4 straight penalties to the Czechs.. I think they're doing it on purpose to give Francouz some action!

Thank you, we should really put feet on gas pedal, they are even playing without their best players and we need to score a lot of goals for GD.

No kidding... maybe there is some rule that says we have to take stupid penalties? So when Michal sits, someone has to step up? I'm convinced they are practicing their penalty killing.lol
