There is classic one game that Finland can lose and still win gold, as history has shown. I wish we lost against Slovakia if we had to lose some one, but looks like this year that loss should be Canada.

Multiplier is 2.10 for Finland 3 goal or more difference vicotry. Would be no brainer if Laine played left wing, he wold draw so many penalties. But still no info. Probably he is RW due to Jalonen being stupid and giving Jussi Jokinen his favourite place in cost of Laine's deke arsenal going to waste. He has been struggling to make dekes in this tournament, it is because the moves he knows work from left wall. All the goals he has scored are from left wing position, the play has swapped the places accidentally or it has been PP.

Finland will lose that one game to Canada. Beat the Swedes in the qf, and CZE in the semi. Canada or Russia in the final against Finland :popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:
 
God,Slovakia looks so gimpy out there, like old men with alzheimers.

I have never witnessed as bad a Slovak hockey team.

It makes me wax with old memories of Anton,Marian and Peter.


And Druzilla.
 
I know this is a good Finnish team but man, the Slovaks look as if every player has arthritis.

They don't move well.
 
Rantanen has has a strong start to the game, hopefully he keeps it up.

Absolutely. The first few shifts by Slovakia were slow and the Finns had two good chances but they were the better team after that.

Shame Slovakia didn't score on any of their chances.
 
Slovaks easiky had best of chances that period.. fins look like they r sleepwalking and having some tough breakdowns in d zone..

In all seriousness Rantanen is much safer player in the fourth line. Pulkkinen is better suited for top 6 role. Rantanen can play all lines well and is going to be good NHLer in the near future. I think Pulkkinen is too inconsistent to make a good career in the NHL.

Slovakia playing trap every situation, the center is is stick jungle. They had few good chances from their rushes, that ended up being very close to count.
 
Slow first period for Finland. Slovaks are desperate to make it to the qf, so they are playing their hearts out. Too bad they will run out of gas, start taking penalties, and Finland will capitalize!

Finland needs to stop this passing game on their zone and start the play a lot faster.

Don't get carried away so easily, it's just one period... Not saying we can't play better than we did in our last games, but Finland definitely has a higher gear(s).

I don't think it's that bad in comparison to our previous starts in the tournament. We started the period well with some chances of our own. Regardless, Slovakia did have some chances and I don't think they should be underestimated.
 
2 shots on goal for Finland:shakehead every player is sloppy. Just start to skate right now and shooot that puck on goal!! Every goal doesn't need to be a tic-tac-toe beauty!
 
The difference with Pulu and Rants is that you actually see him 5on5, and pretty much in every shift.
