A) These are projected lineups. It says in the first post.

B) So the crying and whining has already begun. :help:

I'm pretty sure that Juuse Saros is starter goalie and Tommi Kivistö is playing.

This.

While goalie is yet to be announced it would surprise if it's not Saros.

Salmela has a muscle cramp? and Kivistö will take his place in the lineup. This is 100%.

Saros starts, Rantanen will play (4th line), Pulkkinen in the pressbox.

I believe I speak on behalf of everyone other than our head coach when I say: Finally.

You do. Jalonen, you may be a bit a slow at times, but you do have a brain after all. Not only do you finally give Rantanen a chance, but you give Saros a fair chance too? You surprise me. And not because you do something unexpected, but because you do something I can fully understand. On both counts.

F:
Patrik Laine – Aleksander Barkov – Jussi Jokinen
Leo Komarov – Mikko Koivu – Mikael Granlund
Mika Pyörälä – Jarno Koskiranta – Sebastian Aho
Mikko Rantanen – Tomi Sallinen – Antti Pihlström
Jani Lajunen

D:
Esa Lindell – Ville Pokka
Lasse Kukkonen – Atte Ohtamaa
Topi Jaakola – Juuso Hietanen
Tommi Kivistö

G:
Juuse Saros

* Laine's confirmed to play on the left wing now???

* How much icetime will Rantanen likely get? enough to prove himself worthy?

* Does Saros have any potential to steal the starter spot?

Unforunately I don't think Slovakia will test your play as we used to in the past.
I hope the game will be somewhat more exciting than yesterday vs. Canada though.

For what its worth, changes in lineup for this match:

1. Bakoš, Viedenský, Jurčo
2. L. Hudáček, Réway, Dravecký
3. Skalický, Lušňák, Cehlárik
4. Bartánus, Marcinko, Daňo

WOOT LAINE AT LW? WE'RE IN FOR A TREAT!

He is so dominating from LW. He can undress top defenders and get a shooting chance. I really hope this rumor is true.

Hardly. Unless that's from the official game sheet, the writeup made by some reporter means that the side of the winger can be either way on ice. We all should know that without asking. So only a fool gets all excited.

Yea, Source would be appreciated.

That Laine would be alot more dangerous and way better if they did the chance, it is very obvious for any one who has seen Laine's play style in LW. His dekes don't work from RW as well, he has learned to play the LW simply.

Yep, it looks like KJ does have a backup plan for the QF after all, in case Koskinen wets the bed on Tuesday. Now Saros with 2 recent games under his belt can play in the QF if needed.

Not going to be an easy game. Slovaks are cornered while we've been smooth sailing. I could easily see us giving up the 1st goal at least.

I just hope our team starts off better than they have lately. Against France, they improved a bit, but that can still partially be because of the disparity in talent. If they keep coming out slowly like they have overall, we will be in trouble against the dominant Canadians.

Is there confirmation on Laine LW or RW?

I think if he is LW, it affects betting decisions, too. He at LW will draw few more penalties for opponent as well as straight scoring chances.
