Unfortunately pretty much everything went wrong. Only one goal, sloppy defense, sieve goaltending, and bad discipline. McDavid and Barzal were the only bright spots but even they didn't really get results

Yeah it was just one of those strange games.

Regroup and get better for the next one.

I first thought it was a joke but then I realized Canada wants to even the odds. Very fair imho.

Despite being backups, its astounding that these 2 Canadian netminders are still NHL level.

They're not NHL level which is why they are sheltered and only play around 30 games a season.
A backup isn't an NHL level goaltender. They're stopgaps who are there just if the actual NHL level goalie is injured or needs rest.
Of course there are exceptions like Saros and Kinkaid along many others but that's the broad definition in my opinion.

Danmark was better than Canada tonight. They had home ice, big heart and a worldclass goalie. Still, it's not usual for Canada to underperform against Finland. Might be the loss (if it happens) to get the team together.
