Slovakia and Slovenia doesn't even share the same border, which is a common misconception even amongst Europeans. I asked my friend who is well educated which country DOES NOT border Slovakia and gave him four options. He didn't get it right until Slovenia was the only option left.

Anyway, Slovakia should win but in recent years they seem to struggle when they have to be the team dictating the game. Imagine beating OAR and still ending up in last place in the group.

two reasons: 1. it was late in the season and many players were rusty as they didn't have a chance to play much 2. bad chemistry under old coach zupancic. true, that was the worst wc for this generation.

Of course they cant call all, but after letting all go, not throwing Slovenia out of bully for cheating, they let Slovakia play consecutive 5 on 3? Dissalow a good goal and still keep whistles for interference in the pocket. wtf?

The IIHF refs are kind of strange, especially to North Americans. You can decapitate a guy in the crease, but not any place else on the ice.
