A little surprised nylander didn't have more impact and wasn't named Swedish player of the game (he didn't deserve to be).

He still looked great though!

...joking?

More of an impact? He got the game winner at probably the most crucial point in the game (right after the Czechs scored) :shakehead

I wouldn't call that being too individual.

From what I've seen watching him in both Providence and in Boston, he would rather set up a teammate to score than take a shot and he doesn't quit playing no matter how bad they are losing.

In the 3rd it looked like many players just stopped trying and that's when Pasta tried to be the hero and it made him play worse.

I'm not denying that, he was trying, yes. It just was obvious that he was too confident sometimes like he was aware that he's the guy that have played in the NHL already. Like he believed he would beat the Swedes himself. I'm sure he will get better next game. He's a great player and the talent is undeniable.

No ones calling Nylander a hall of famer :laugh:

You've been a member since 2012, no way you were around back when Stralman was a Leaf. Leaf fans didn't even shed a tear when Stralman left and he isn't even the same player.

You probably couldn't have picked a worse example.

Whether people like to admit it or not, more often then not hype train players generally become solid players. And on top of that us Leaf fans are actually pretty good with who we hype up. 90% of our fanbase acknowledges that we only have 1-3 great prospects who may actually become top 6 players.

If I remember right the stralman/lidstrom comparison came from a Swedish paper and a few leafs fans posted it. Ofc it gets brought up that leafs fans were the one to originally saying it

Zacha had one shot and zero points...

Someone explain to me why he is ranked so high for the draft.....

Not feeling it..

Because head to head... He's outplayed giys like Dylan strome... Just listen to the scouts. He played in the 3rd line. How is he supposed to make an impact? He should be on the 2nd line but our coach is stupid.

I have said it before, how can Aho be undrafted? He is one the best d-men in age group without any doubt. Have to be the most underrated talent in the world.

I can absolutely see your viewpoint. I'm sure he'll be talked to after the game. The Czechs are super talented so I hope the team looks much better tomorrow.

Is there a reason Vrana and Pastrnak aren't on the same PP unit?

Beauty.

Renberg talking about how beautiful the colours are inside ACC. Great expert.

:biglaugh:

I'm in love with Söderström. So calm and confident. And in his very first interview he politely rocks marie lehman and that other 1. He's like a gift from above.

Plus he had a stick on two other of Sweden's goals. Kempe definitely deserved the potg, two beautiful shots from him. But Nylander had a good game too.

Yes, Kempe deserved potg, but I'm laughing at Doc's criticism. I'd describe scoring the goal that wins the game for your team as having a major impact on the game.

Kempe was clearly the player of the game. Lots of great hockey played out there today as expected by Sweden. Fun game to watch. Kempe was the potg for this easily but there are plenty of games left and plenty of players who can play.

Such a great tournament.

The Stralman/Lidstrom comparison came from Stralman's SEL coach (he was comparing style, not peak), and when that quote was posted by a Leaf fan, HF decided to attribute it as Leaf fans claiming Stralman = Lidstrom.

Kempe scored 2 goals. Other than that he did nothing. The best swedish forward was Nylander, and it was not close.

Its our coach man.. He's made a lot of bad decisions. That's why this loss is good. It forces him to make changes. Czechs played well, but they should have been much better. Sweden is not a superior team compared to us. Losing 5-2 to them is extremely unacceptable. If nothing changes among the line up, then we will lose to Switzerland as well. He also played our 2 worst defenseman on the powerplay and the most minutes. He is ruining this team and its really too bad. without the stupid cuts he made and Ludacris line combinations, then this team could compete for a Gold IMO. And that's why we are all frustrated. Coach has taken this team from Gold competitors to a team that could well have a hard time getting out of the group.

Vrana, Pastrnak, and Zacha should be on the First powerplay line. Zacha can shoot the puck just as good as anyone else in this tourny
