Can somebody list how did Sweden and Czech Republic fared in their pre-tournament exhibition games?

Can somebody list how did Sweden and Czech Republic fared in their pre-tournament exhibition games?

They both lost both games. Sweden to Canada and the USA. Czechs to Slovakia and Finland, though the Finland game went to OT(SO?).

In fact group B was 2-7 against group A in pre-tournament, with the only wins being Russia over Canada and Denmark over Germany.

Sweden are weaker this year than normal. The Czechs stronger than normal. Should make this game closer than normal. Nylander puts on a show, Hatrick and an assist, winner in OT.

4-3 Sweden in OT

Omg I still can't accept czech coach decisions. No Karabacek, Jenys :shakehead

My lineup:
Vrana-Kampf-O.Kase
Karabacek-Spacek-Pastrnak (Spacek can't be in 4th line)
Zdrahal-Zacha-Kubalik
Jenys-Mandat-Vozenilek/Ruzicka
+ Chlapik (he can replace Spacek)

Prerost had the same arguments like Hadamczik before olympic games. They both said they need players to checking and cross line. Hadamczik didn't take Hudler and Vrbata and Prerost didn't take Chlapik and Karabacek. Hadamczik broke his argument about 3rd and 4th line when he placed Nedved to 4th line although he has never been defensive player and made a lot of penalties. I expect Prerost will make the same thing and place Spacek to 3rd or 4th line. These arguments about 3rd and 4th line use czech coachs only like excuse for their controversial decisions.

Thank you! Such a great answer, that I should send some vcash your way.

According to Expressen, Grönborg will not let Nylander play center in this game.

that's dumb. Hasn't he played his best in the SHL this year as a center?

I want him to be a center, and play and develop as a good center. Leafs don't need more wingers.

Now, that team I could see to be a contender.

Out of what we got, I'd like to see something like this:

Vanecek (Vladar)

Klok - Kostalek
Masin - Scotka
Stencel - Baranek
Nemecek

O.Kase - Kampf - Vrana
Kubalik - Spacek - Pastrnak
D.Kase - Zacha - Ruzicka
Zdrahal - Mandat - Vozenilek
Gorcik

Maybe I would move down O.Kase and Kampf to third line so that Spacek and Zacha move up and would center first two lines. Then we would be missing one quality winger there though (which would be OK if we had Karabacek) unless Ruzicka would be able to step up. Or separate O.Kase and Kampf.

O.Kase - Zacha - Vrana
Kubalik - Spacek - Pastrnak
D.Kase - Kampf - Ruzicka
Zdrahal - Mandat - Vozenilek
Gorcik

Thumbs up :) but I change Zacha and Spacel. At U18 tournament Zacha was in line with Pastrnak and Spacek with Vrana. They played in these lines:

Karabacek - Zacha - Pastrnak
Vrana - Spacek - D.Kase

According to Expressen, Grönborg will not let Nylander play center in this game.

Grönborg has a grudge towards nylander and is destroying our only hope to go far. Nylander has been way better as center in modo.

Fire grönborg!

Yeah, I thought about that.. Zacha and Spacek could be interchangeable :)

Too bad Prerost will make just total mess out of it and put Mandat there... :)

If it's true that Nylander will play wing, I hope the put Holmström as his center.

Kempe - Holmström - Nylander
Brodecki - Wallmark - Lindblom
Olofsson - JDLR - Bristedt
Blidh - Ehn - Karlsson

And they both can be winger too. So they can play with Chlapik at center.

Karabacek - Zacha - Pastrnak
Vrana - Chlapik - Spacek

But roster would be too young. Maybe next year :)

We are leaking goals. Putting the best offensive player, but at the same time questionable defensive center, out on a wing seems sensible. I assume defense is the problem, because the 1v1 talk is crap. If we're not a plus team with Nylander on the ice we are done.

I second this.

Also good thing that Hägg is in the lineup, he will hopefully bring some stability. Hope he gets 25 mins.

Also Söderström starting (hopefully, looked good in practice) is huge if he can play just a little bit better than Ward.
