Unlike yesterday, today our forwards proved that they can score. That's a good thing to see before the rest of the tournament.

Beresnevs? If lines weren't mixed between 2nd period, we might as well have done nothing.

Let's start with the president of LHF.

I like how after 2 good games, which were expected sure to be 0 point games, we somehow managed to get 2 points! Maybe stop crying about federation and coach and just enjoy games, we wont change anything anyway!

He only mixed up the lines because kenins was penalized

Masalskis can't be in the net during shootout. Even in 2009 when Latvians won over Sweden, was Masalskis changed before shooutout for Naumovs. Still I think Czechs would have managed a win but I think everybody who follows hockey knows that Masalskis is terrible at shootout.

Well such a tactic of putting a ''cold'' goalie in for SO is not used that often. I can understand that people are mad at young Ābols being chosen as the first guy to go out there, but where will he learn to perform under pressure if not in WC? In the grand scheme of things one or two points here was not that important. If we had kept it 3:2, it would be fantastic but... still our main games will be vs Swiss, Scandinavians and Canuckstan.

Balticwarrior ****, Beresnevs might not be the best coach but he collected girty team with spirit.

We force 2 of the top 5 teams to loose a point against us and it is not bad at all but lets see what happens next.

Lol, brought Sweden to OT and Czech Republic to SO, what should he do to gain your respect, win the gold medal?

Well not picking players that are totally unfit for shootouts would be a good start. Yeah we got a point but it easily could have been 2. Also his unexplained love for GalviņÅ¡ even putting him on the first pairing eventhough he has been responsible for 3 lost goals in 2 games.

Well, the only person ''unfit'' for SO could be Ābols, just because of his limited experience and his young age. And if you want a guy to be good at SO, he needs to have the opportunity to try that at the highest level. Maybe if we played Norway or Kazakhstan he would not come out, but he needs that experience too. He could be good at this in future.

The Doge and Bukarts were known choices for the SO.

I just dont feel WC is the place for training your SO skills, also i would pick Indrašis over Bukarts 10/10 times everyday and twice on sunday, bukarts is more of a sniper than anyhting else.

I agree that Bukarts is a sniper-type of player, but I am not sure if I would be happy to see yet another Indrašis failed dangle. I surely don't have numbers to back it up, but it seems like he's had quite a few in recent times.

Well yes, maybe it's like that but I disagree with people who say that SO is decided by luck or something. Oftentimes it is still decided by skilled shooters and once we had Nizivijs, Darzins who could do it. Now we do not have any decent option, except for Daugavins maybe... So I did not have high hopes on that anyway. Might be that in some other more important game good SO will be more needed and I still don't know who we would put out there, but if Ābols is chosen one more time maybe he will score as he would have already been in that position and will have more confidence.
