This game would be more interesting in soccer:popcorn:

We won 6:1 before approx. two weeks with weaker team. I guess this game would not be a drama, finally.

Slovakia 4:0

Watch out Slovakia. Great Britain are very aggressive and effective in minimizing the quality of shots against their goal. Relentless stick checking.

Ciliak in net for Slovakia. Too bad, I was hoping for Godla, to see if he could potentially get hot for this kind of tourney even at men's level as he did at u20.

Jaros and Daloga are also out, Hudacek is questionable.

Uhm, I noticed only now that Slovakia does NOT play their games in Bratislava. Why?

Uhm, I noticed only now that Slovakia does NOT play their games in Bratislava. Why?

Last time we hosted the WC, Bratislava had great attendance (we played there) but Kosice did not, so the organisers decided that Slovakia would play in Kosice this year, while the Czech Republic would play in Bratislava. Czech Republic is in the vicinity of Bratislava, so it's almost like they are the home team there.

Also there was a large outcry from fans in Kosice about not only not having a Slovakia game, but also no play-off games in 2011 which might have influenced attendance there as well.

How many assistant coaches do we actually have? Feels like there is an interview with a different one before every game.

And why don't they ever get Ramsey himself to talk? It's not like RTVS would have that much trouble translating from English, they are doing ok with the player interviews this year.

Ahh, ok, Ciliak has some kind of stomach bug, so that's why Godla is in goal.

I expected nothing else. I'm still bummed by us choking the games vs Canada and Germany in last seconds. I honestly think we would have contended medals otherwise. Positive takeaway is that we can likely expect similar style of play in the coming years.

If we miss the QFs for the 2nd time in a row by one point, you know what they says: 3rd time's a charm.

EDIT: And the disappointment from the losses against Canada and Germany feels a bit better to me than barely defeating Italy yo avoid relegation. At least I was happy for a big part of those two games and every other game in this tourney so far.

Stars might not align next year, we might not get the core from NHL. Either way, I'm pleased with the coaching, this style of play that we are showing this tournament is likely Ramsay's signature, I hope he extends. Even if stars might not align in NHL next year, I feel like if we ice fast Europeans, we can be competitive again. It's all about speed, I mean look at them, they're skating and skating and skating, I love the effort!
