Without Seider our defense is going to be even weaker than it was already.
Whoever the goalie will be, will have to stand on his head and get plenty of support from the rest of the team.
Not really looking forward to this game.

Any information about today’s starting goalie for Canada? And will they go with Murray or Hart for the rest of the tournament?

Murray today. Possibly Hart vs. the Danes and Murray for all other games.

Thanks, much appreciated.

Interesting to see how the Germans square off against a quality opponent. They were in trouble when they faced Slovakia, although they managed to pull off a victory, so I’m expecting an easy win for the Canadians.

Germany has never beaten Canada.

I was living in West Germany in 1987 when they beat Canada 5:3.

Needless to say, my German friends did not understand how this could happen as Kanada was supposed to be good at hockey. Canada had been in the football World Cup in 1986 and sucked appropriately.

"Our best players are in the NHL at this time of year."

"But it's the WORLD championships. Why wouldn't they attend the WORLD championships?"

"*Sigh*"

The game was briefly overturned because German star forward Miroslav Sikora had played for the Polish junior hockey team, but they ended up reinstating the victories over Canada and Finland while suspending the player.

To be fair, the Canadian team definitely had its share of decent NHLers, including:
-Dino Cicccarelli
-Kirk Muller
-Zarley Zalapski
-Al Secord
-James Patrick
-Brian Bellows
-Tony Tanti
-Dirk Graham
-Larry Murphy
-Bob Froese
-Dan Quinn
-Barry Pederson
-Keven Dineen

At the time, the WHC teams were hastily thrown together like the all-star teams are and there was no real preparatory work done.

Canada has come a long way in terms of preparing for the tournament and adapting to European hockey conditions.

Chabot with the bomb!

Great puck movement on that.

Chabot kept the puck in twice for that goal to happen. That reach by the boards made sure Germany couldn’t change.

Marchy made a nice play there to draw the defenders in and then get it back to him.
