I wonder what are the experiences of this referee from Hungary? Is he at least working for KHL/SHL during the season (or some other major league)? If it is EBEL or Hungarian league then it is the massive fail from IIHF to have such a referee on WHC.

Why is there a Hungarian referee in the first place? To bring "diversity"?

I think all participating countries at the Worlds have to send at least one ref. Of course, as I've mentioned numerosu times in the apst, even among the top hockey countries, the best refs often aren't present but rather those who suck up to the refereeing officials in their native countries the best.

FSweden got that win in the end from the hungarian ref. Lots of phantom calls on the Swedes during the game on the other hand.
