If we lose this match we can begin to talk relegation, but I doubt we will lose to Kazakhstan...

Ha! A Dawes hattrick on the powerplay? Not able to catch this game, but it sounds like the same story as before. Before the SUI game they talked about being smarter and then Jesper B. Jensen runs Berra and near the end of the kill Nicholas Jensen gets called for holding the stick, they didn't concede but those minutes pretty well sums up this team!

They might be good, but unlike my fellow countrymen on this board I couldnt care less if we get relegated...maybe that is the wakeupcall we need.

Maybe it is a wake-up call we need too, but that's one we cannot stomach. It will certainly damage morale back home.

Arguably the fastest rising nation in the IIHF doesn't need a wakeup call, they need some establishing successes.

Off course we do. You should listen to the Danish media...so proud that we havent been relegated for 13 years, but fail to see why that is. We might produce more talent than ever, but on the mental level is just as fragile as 13 years ago. We talk ourselves up to being something that we cannot handle and at the first sign of regress everything collapses like a cardhouse.

Holy Smokes, you Danes sure like naming your kids Morten! (Just had a gander at the boxscore, Goal scored by a Morten assisted by a Morten, next goal same...etc) :D

And collapsing won't help that...you do realize that right? Failure won't make anyone mentally stronger or whatever...usually fans have a problem with the federation and in that case I'd say we'll everyone hates their federation but you don't even have a problem with the fed you have a problem with the mental fragility of the fanbase and media? And you think losing will somehow help that?

Dude, read my posts....I couldnt care less if we get relegated. I want them to go full throttle and go after the last quarterfinalspot instead of looking backwards all the time...getting 13th or 14th spot for the fourth time in a row will not get us anywhere...

Exactly Danish psyche - that won't change...
So that's why I want relegation-avoidance first in their minds.
When players and media start to talk about high expectations (like a QF), the players almost always come crashing down to earth again.
Danes always need "to surprise" - if they are favourites they can't handle it. Like losing to Italy in 2012 when people also talked about QF.
