Ya he has a suspected rib injury from a Getzlaf crosscheck on Nov 30. It caused JV to miss all of December. Canucks are trying to disguise it as a hip pointer. JV only started skating 1 week before Canada exhibition games by playing 2 conditioning stint games with Utica

Oh so he was hurt. If he was still hurt I seriously doubt Vancouver would send him. Until someone reputable reports on this I'm gonna chalk it up as an excuse. Didn't hear about this injury after the exhibition game against Sweden.

"Ryan Getlzaf with a cross check on Jake Virtanen and caught him right on the ribs, and thats why Virtanen was in trouble" John Garret

JV then misses the next 3-4 weeks of hockey.. Dont need to be a doctor to put 2 and 2 together..Broken or not he is definitely playing hurt.

It wouldnt be the 1st time a hockey player tried to play hurt especially given its a chance to play for his country.

I'm a Canucks fan, I'm well aware of the hit. Don't need you playing doctor though

Vancouver doesn't send Virtanen with broken ribs

**** the NHL network. Showing winter classic crap during when the game is on and actually going to show the game at 12:30 pacific time.

And folks are baffled why people would rather stream illegally. With service like that - it's no frigging wonder. :shakehead

Watching some of the Czech Rep Finland game. Am I the only one who'd rather play the Fins than the Czechs? Something about that Czech team scares me.

Finns are overrated imo. I said earlier many times the Czech's have a very good team and should not be taken lightly at all.

We have so much more speed than the Finns, I could see Canada beating them if Blackwood plays well and Canada uses short shifts rolling 4 relentless lines

Blah blah blah Virtanen blah blah blah Marner blah blah blah everyone shut the **** up and watch the game.

You want someone reputable to report that JV is hurt while JV is playing and create open season to target his injury ? Do you follow hockey culture ? These guys will tell you they have an upper body injury when they have a broken foot.

JV clearly not 100% out there but able to play through the Injury. Why is this a big shock that a hockey player is going through the wall for his team and country ?

Point is clearly not 100% healthy either yet TBay is letting him play.

The team needs some of the so-called star players to step up.
Marner, in particular, has been a major disappointment. Strome has done well but he needs some more support offensively if the team is to go anywhere.

Agreed w. This. Marner and Fleury on top of everyone's list to show up. Strome and Barzal are only positive standouts. Coach needs to be better as well

Agreed. Don't understand why they couldn't just wait until after this game to show this other stuff that they are showing now.

The one person that needs to make an adjustment is Lowry. Needs to really cut down the leangth of shifts. Boys can't even back check after being out that for a min and half plus.
