^^THIS.

Prediction: Canada wins 5-2. Duclair will be the player to watch. And Fucale, this guy makes me nervous.

Fucale makes everyone nervous. In the end, i firmly believe when the time comes- Comrie will be the guy playing the meaningful games in the end for Canada. Was not overly impressed with Fucale last year, and frankly, i wanted Jarry invited to camp to compete for the starting goalie position this year; since Hockey Canada basically already anointing their two goalies before camp was a joke.

I don't like Slovakia this year. Don't really know what it is. Maybe a gut feeling. Even if I did like Slovakia however, this shouldn't be close. One of the better teams Canada has sent in a while. Fucale lets in a couple stinkers, but it won't matter.

Canada 8-2

Probably because they stink every year. I think they won a bronze medal like 16 years ago but they're a perennial bottom feeder. I know they upset the usa in the quarterfinals once but thats about the only highlight of this millennium for them.

Fabbri or Virtanen need to move up to McDavid's line. Lazar is great but doesn't have the offensive upside of either of those guys.

I had a better feeling about them last year though, this year it's just blah. They should beat Germany, but I don't see them coming close to any of Canada, USA, or Finland, and that'll give them a date with 1st place in group B, and while that's weaker than group A, they still won't challenge them imo.

You have to hope, but we'll see. Some coaches love their "intangibles". Seriously hope you're right! :)

I thought he was related to him, albeit very distantly.

Anyway, I hope that the game isn't a blowout, but a good hockey game.

Slovakia is usually fun to watch. Always the country people forget about, despite the number of players they manage to churn out. Prediction? A bit of a sloppy affair, but a burst of offense from Canada, I guess similar to the Swiss game, but with more push back from a better squad.

6:3 for Canada. Cehlárik, Kabáč and Paulovič are the goalscorers for Slovakia. Réway with 2 assists.

Well I am not so sure about his year's team Slovakia being a better squad than this year's Swiss team tbh. Not the best team Slovakia has had in this tourney by far, but I don't think it i as bad as some people on here make it out to be.

It's really shame Dano is too old. But I hope slovakian players will perform a brave struggle. I think it won't be so easy for Canada how most of people thikn. :handclap:

Weird to see written out considering Lazar is the one lent from his NHL team and was named captain. I can only assume he's going to be leaned upon in a scoring role. Granted, offensive upside isn't synonymous with NHL-ready, I still feel like that playing with men makes a difference when heading to a junior tournament.

I suggested a Fabbri - McDavid - Lazar top line, with Domi - Reinhart - Duclair as a 1A/1B type duo. Domi/Duclair seemed to click and Reinhart is a pretty steady player, defensively responsible and a great playmaker. Perfect #2C (and I see him in that role eventually in Buffalo).

No offense but just be prepared for the worst, whether you're like the Swiss or not it really doesn't matter.

Who are the players to watch for the Slovaks? Outside of Cehlarik, Reway, Cernak and Jaros I know very little of them. Well I know Koys had some hype a few years ago but other than that I don't have a very good grasp.

Unfortunately, that's all. Bondra is also worth to watch.
