It's not like they are going to make him an asstitant coach so i don't see the problem with the greatest player ever being in the organization in a non-coach capacity.
 
There is no front office vacancy with the Rangers. Messier didn't see a future in the front office and made a pitch to become head coach.

Not only that, but even if there were, theres thousands of people out there more qualified for a front office job than Wayne Gretzky.
 
I'm rapidly getting to the point where I wish all these old timers would just go away, Sather inculded. Gretzky made a mess of the Coyotes & now he will help Sather make a bigger mess in NY.
