Greater franchise out of the 2: Detroit or Toronto?

My vote for Toronto. A lot of NHL players are coming from Ontario, and I feel like that has to mean something.

Detroit is more iconic. They have produced so many more legends and these players spanned more eras

Toronto has been very meh for very long. Zero championships outside of a 6 team league.

Detroit by miles for me. I grew up watching hockey in the 90's and early 00's so Detroit was always relevant and Toronto was an afterthought.

They were the strongest rivals to the traitorous neo-Nordiques in Denver joined by the self exiled Patrick Roy. They were MY good guys!
