Prospect Info: Grand Rapids Griffins Discussion

This team has way too much talent to be 4th worst in goals for, regardless of callups, only worse teams are at the bottom of their divisions and absolutely terrible. Every team has call ups, injuries, and players who become NHLers, it's not really a valid excuse for this team to be this bad when Cossa isn't carrying.

The fact that not only prospect productions is underwhelming, but pretty much every veteran is having a down year, should really be questioning the coaching here.

theyve nobody to replace the very important dman job of handling the puck all 200' that aljo was doing . ide bet if offensive stats were checked since he left it'd be very noticable

After a disappointing regular season (statistically) dropped from 41-8-10-18 to 42-5-6-11, MBN is scoring in the playoffs again 4-2-1-3. ASP is 4-0-3-3. MBN playoff performance last year 12-4-6-10 boosted his draft stock and he is off to a good start again.
Both Elite and Hockeydb have the Skulleftea playing 4 games but the team up 3 games to none in their current series against Farjestad. I don't understand where the 4th game comes from.

I'm really excited about his potential. We need to get out of this rebuild next year and he may be an important part of taking that next step.

Most players who end up 50-70pt+ at the NHL level (whcih is what we need, not more 30-40pt tweeners to replace Compher and Copp) are PPG+ at the AHL level.
As first year pros? Or even first year AHLers? As centers, with decent/good two-way games?

I think if you actually start breaking it down you'll notice it's not that cut and dry.

Just to pick a guy at random; JT Miller had 23 points in 42 AHL games in his d+2.

Guys like Adrian Kempe and Roope Hintz could also be mentioned.

Danielson is doing fine. Both him and Kasper should be evaluated on far more than just raw scoring, and we're seeing that translate with Kasper who is outperforming a lot of guys who scored more in the AHL.

What's the deal would Augustine need to turn pro, or could be do a tryout with the Griffs and maintain his eligibility? It will be telling what they decide to do with him going forward.
Not sure, but the plan needs to be to speed things up with him and Cossa. An opinion I am sure the organization doesn't agree with.

The big club is being killed in the net. The parade of retreads has run its course. We need one of the young guy to take of the job sooner than later.

With defense we have, Id rather keep Them away.

I’m not convinced Dvorsky is a center and Benson is still an undersized winger who isn’t lighting the world on fire.

I know you like Dvorsky because he’s scoring in the AHL, but he’s still not a great skater and I suspect he moves to the wing.

Benson is a teenager with the best defensive impacts on his team..and absurd ones for a teenager on any team

If you’re just trying to count stats…they’ve predictably started coming when he stopped playing with Lafferty and Malenstyn and started playing with Tage and Kulich

But it's impossible to draft skill out of North America from where the Red Wings pick.
