Frustrating result, PP can be really deflating at times. Undisciplined game. Onto the next
Danielson: B+
• Solid game, but he needs to start adjusting offensively. He did make a beautiful pass in front to Mazur and he got ROBBED
He skates so slow entering the zone all the time. He either gets himself closed off so he has to dump it in, or he gets in and then his linemates are not really attacking lanes so he stops up and then gets pressured. Like I said last time, I need to see him with better players and not have him carry around slow players
And to that point holy f*** get Gettinger off his line. And move on from Watson. It's stale at this point. Stack your first line with Dries - Danielson - Mazur and generate some friggen high-octane offense. Griffins need to attack with some speed for once. I'm not gonna lie, it's boring (albeit effective) hockey a lot of the time. Lombardi can't come back fast enough... Pun not intended
Cossa: B
• Big glove save 5 mins into the game off a slot shot, he made it look way too easy. Did get sniped on the 1st goal. Griffins made him swim on the 2nd goal. Not a bad performance, not his best either. Still good at tracking the puck despite the game
Mazur: B+
• Pretty good offensively. Heck of a release on his shot. Got absolutely robbed off a great feed from Nate. I don't understand why they are not playing together as they could be potential Red Wing linemates as early as next season. They have chemistry from the short bit they've been on the ice together
Wallinder: B
• Trouble getting puck out on breakout. Forcing plays that shouldn't be there. He did make one nifty behind the back pass to himself where he changed direction and opened up a better lane to
Needs to use his body more to get position. He gets caught trying to reach around the player. He's also just gotta get a lot stronger
Good defending the rush. He was doing well getting the puck to the net, and also activating offensively
Buium: B+
• Made a great read in the offensive zone to pinch, cut down the angle of the player at the boards and caused a turnover that went right into slot almost for a chance
Tuomisto: A-
• Great decision making on breakout passing. Good defending with body position and separating man from puck. 2nd shift of the 3rd he generated a play where GR was all over the crease, then made a good keep at the line that same shift. Making good passes at the line D to D, and was great at keeping the line
Becher: A-
• Earned himself a promotion to the 3rd line over the past couple games. Getting confident in pushing the pace in transition and offensively and you're seeing it more often these days. Good development so far there
