I will keep saying it, Buium has achieved DAWG status and has an NHL future. I see a guy that could be an ideal #4-5 on a good team and play well at both ends of the ice. Hes a big strong kid, plays a solid two way game, and has above average skills for a defensemen. The kind of player who doesn't have any overwhelming strengths to his game, but no obvious weaknesses either.

Sort of a Brad Stuart defenseman, maybe.

Why not but i'd rather keep Kasper-Larkin-Ray together.

Good reports from @Our Lady Peace , keep up the good work!

It's sure is nice to see Mazur on ice, just Lombardi left and GR is soon to be rocking and rollin with a healthy roster.

Snively - Danielson - Shine
Mazur - Lombardi - Watson
Hanas/Doucet - Dries - Söderblom
Hanas/Doucet - Becher/Seger - Gettinger
Rychlovsky - Becher/Seger - Johannes

Many options available
Larkin probably not 100 % now, so they trying to use some power forward to help him. Kasper playing temporary on first line .
In the end if Raymond and Kasper got some magic between them,it might have sense to keep Kasper on the first line, then we have Copp, Danielson and Compher for other center positions

Super frustrating weekend against the lowly Moose. Griffins have been undisciplined, and ass on the PP lately. Penalty with 43 seconds left, Moose score and boom 1-0 final score. They need an immediate injection of Mazur and Lombardi to the top 6 for some skill here

Danielson: C
• Not his best game but not a bad game by any means. I want Snively off his line and Nate to be reunited with Elmer. Really good at faceoffs, as usual. Finding new areas to try and score from on one of the PPs. Weak soft cross-ice pass that got picked off at the end of a PP. Had a good PK in the 2nd. Showing great hands and feet in tight space

Unfortunately in the last minute of the 3rd he took an errant puck in the ear and while he's trying to defend the player, takes a tripping penalty. Moose scored immediately on the PP

Soderblom: B+
• He's been posted on the right side for the PP2 and had a few good looks when the PP actually maintains the zone. Fed Tuomisto and he ripped it off the bar. Love his ability to stop up and create space for himself in the offensive zone. Defensively aware. Had a giveaway but hustled back to stop the partial breakaway. Physical play was very prominent tonight,

Wallinder: B
• Decision making on who to pass to on the breakout is sometimes poor. Decent game overall though for him

Buium: B+
• Steady game all around. Same as usual

Becher: B
• He's now wearing a fishbowl lol. Maybe he got injured last game and that's why he was largely absent? Tonight, good in support of the puck. Good defensively. Made a big diving poke to prevent the Moose player from getting all alone. Later that same shift he got stoned right on the doorstep going back the other way

Edit: downgraded Danielson from B- to C

The AHL seems like a league where younger players are just constantly injured, it’s truly a goon league imo and the last of its kind. I don’t really like it for this reason, I think its skill level is equal to or higher than the SHL but I just can’t stand how some of the plugs in that league play. Mazur was injured by a particularly dirty hit to the head, something that could change his career forever. It bothers me.

It isn't a goon league. Goon leagues are the lower pro leagues. Just because there is some idiots in the AHL doesn't mean all the injuries are from dirty plays. Mazur is small and will always be in jeopardy of getting hurt, especially if he plays a gritty style. Lombardi also needs to learn where to put himself and not get into bad spots. In the lone preseason game I saw, he put himself in a couple of bad spots and got hammered on one of them.

Your words in Yzerman ears. Hope Lombardi gets well and Danielson stays healthy

Coach Watson must've read my notes from last game and put Soderblom on the top line lmao finally. Griffins decision making on the PP sucked at times but they scored twice there so what can I say. Also just shoot the puck. Wallinder and Buium same PP different shifts both passed up great looks in the high slot

Griffins can push the pace at times but lately it's not been there much. They need better puck moving D. Buium is really the only one who sees the ice well in that regard

Austin Watson super undisciplined tonight but he was a menace throwing hits and got the ENG too

Danielson: A
• Finally off the f***in schnide. Good on him getting it on the doorstep, that's how he was gonna have to get that monkey off the back. Made a good play getting to the puck along the boards for Didier to clear and Watson to score on the ENG

This has been a theme for quite some time, but he needs better puck support when carrying into the zone. Seems often that nobody is ever with him (line change sometimes) and he's forced to go 1 on 1/2/3 and his success depends on if he gets closed off or not where he can stop up. Would like to see him try kicking it into gear and blow past the D on occasion like he did in the WHL

Seemed he was getting beat on the draws more than usual tonight

Cossa: A-
• He's a calming presence in net which I like about him. Good game today. First goal was a weird bounce in front off Pavlychev. Second goal he came out to challenge but got sniped

Soderblom: A+
• Man he scored an absolute beauty on the PP with he carried zone entry then undressing two D and goes top shelf far side

Great work on the assist. Hounded the puck in the NZ, then chipped the puck deep, went and won the board battle, and slid it to Nate for the goal. He was on the PK as well, and I actually like that a lot. Didn't overplay, but used his quickness and reach to force opponents to make a play. He missed a tap-in earlier on but didn't phase him

His play for the last while but especially lately is callup worthy and I would almost say this is the time for that. I know Fischer will draw in for Motte but someone has to come for the 13F, no?

Wallinder: B-
• Played fine, but doesn't create much nor see the ice incredibly well, and defensively isn't your go-to guy. Just a guy who doesn't seem to be developing IMHO. Buium has overtaken him as PP1 QB. I know I rag on him, but this is an important development year for him

Buium: A-
• Had a nice give-and-go joining the rush that created himself a grade-A chance right in front. Really good play showcasing an array of skills and situational awareness. Using his reach and skating well to defend the rush. Nice ability to stretch pass and Gettinger, who can't hit the broad side of a barn with a beach ball, couldn't finish on his 2nd breakaway of the 3rd period

Couple times where his backhand passes can be a little soft, almost got picked off but got lucky. Couple passes on the PP were not on the tape and messed up the flow of play, quite unlike him

He got buried a couple times on the boards and the last time his upper body got the worst of the check. He went right to the room, but was back out 5 mins later

Becher: B
• Nice one-timer PP goal, didn't drift into the slot too early and timed it well. He had some trouble puck handling today. Needs to get stronger but he's still 20

Cossa, Soderblom and Danielson knocking on Red Wings door . Next season bring them up or trade, also Lombardi and Mazur still not playing.

Good to see Danielson shooting more, 17 shots in his last 5 games. His SH% is at 6, which will hopefully normalize to 10-12%.

I can't seem to find icetime stats for AHL, does anyone know where to find it?

Once Mazur and/or Lombardi return I would like to see Söderblom called up. Our team needs an injection in the bottom 6 and he deserves another chance.
