They would do that purely for the cap purposes anyway, though I hope the guys are getting healthy over the break. I would like to see Wallinder get some games once we sell off some guys or later in the year when there is an opportunity.
Not only Wallinder, also Tuomisto and Buium. It's kinda crazy Yzerman still in the hunt for wild card and trying to win games. How about letting kids to play couple of games, so they have idea about NHL.

Which defenseman is Stevie gonna sell? Holl? Chiarot? Petry? Gus (lol)?

Virtually every playoff team would be better off calling up their 2 best AHL defensemen before trading for any of those players. The only hope for a callup would be someone getting injured.

If you want to tank I'm not sure I'd play the kids yet. They might do too well, at least compared to who they'd be replacing.
Danielson not ready, Mazur and Lombardi needs to fully recover from injuries. I only see Watson and Soderblom move to Red Wings, both already played in NHL, both could never have chance again to play in NHL, both 4th liners

I was hoping to see Maxie’s name in the lineup tonight. This is the way Elmer will make it to Detroit. I’m rooting for ya buddy

Big W! Griffs made themselves frustrating to play as the game wore on. Cool to see 16,000+ people out for an AHL game

Danielson: A+
• Best player in the game. 3 assists. He also just doesn't get scored on lol. Creative offense and attacking with more intensity. Love the work he did on the 3rd assist. Slight critiques: 0 SOG, and needs slight bit more work on pass reception

Soderblom: A+
• As good a game you can ask from him. Got a nice assist dropping off to Buium after hounding the puck. Liked him defensively too. He was an animal all night with his speed, puck protection, throwing the body, and being an absolute menace. Please Elmer bring this version of yourself and you will be an NHL player soon

Buium: B+
• Felt like I hardly noticed him out there in the first two periods (neither in a good nor bad way). He was great in the 3rd offensively and defensively. Made a great play to setup Seger for his goal. Liked how active he looked on PP1 when he got the chance to. Good at cutting plays off at the blueline

Becher: B+
• Most involved in the play I've remembered of him this year. Liked his PP2 stint. Picked up with the pace of play well tonight

Wallinder: B
• Decent game, moved the puck fairly well and did pick up the assist. Defensively he's able to pin his man on the boards, but when it comes to forechecking pressure he's prone to getting absolutely rocked and he doesn't look confident at all there
