Nate Dawg was first star last night with no points if people are wondering how his game is, even when not scoring
Did you actually watch it to know he played well? I saw that and my first thought was they just gave it to the person with the shootout winner

You mean 2018 draft pick Berggren > 2023 draft pick Danielson. Kid is exceeding what Berggren accomplished at this point in his career.
I mean 23 years old Berggren was better than 20 years old Danielson , means only don't rush Danielson , he is still not NHL ready, maybe 26-27 season. Haven't seen Lombardi and Mazur this year. Maybe those 2 have chance to move up, depends how they recover. Also didn't see Becher playing yesterday.

2023 Berggren> 2024 Danielson
No but I have watched him enough to know he can dominate even when hes not on the score sheet because hes a great possession guy and great defensively. Even if it was just for the gme winner in the shoot out I wuold stand by what I said.

However, if theyre giving a guy first star, its usaully not just because of a shootoutgoal either

Didn't watch many games this or last year, but Berggren looked like a AHL superstar , Danielson has potential to be better than Berggren, just don't rush him

Personally I'm becoming a little skeptical of Mazur. Weight issues? Plus injuries the last two years. Not a great trend anyways.

Nearly two months later he still isn’t back and we have no idea what his injury actually is or when he is coming back. Just vague references to it will be awhile. Do all teams handle injuries like this or is this just Steve’s rules?

Good luck with Texas’s tonight guys

Wallinder scored tonight. Why I keep seeing a lot of people on this site wanting to trade him is beyond me.

Just from his stats, they aren't very good at all. -5 in 16 games when the Griffs are doing decent is pretty bad. Yes I know stat watching blah blah blah, but usually NHL level players still put up stats that are good in other leagues.

He has 7 points in 16 games in the AHL. Those aren’t bad at all. And if you’re using plus minus as an actual stat worth anything, that’s silly.

Why is plus minus not worth anything? When you have a bad one, there is usually a reason. If he is playing the hardest minutes in the league or something than maybe, but the Griffs are actually getting good goaltending, which means good players should be in the plus department.

Personally, I'm not sure I see a guy that possesses quite the level of timing and reading the play that's needed at the NHL level to succeed defensively and not look lost completely out there

From what I see this year though is that he's improving on making reads whilst trying to hone in the physical tools and rush play he was so good at in the SHL. The ice got smaller, and at this point he still seems to be tentative with his decision making. He's naturally still adjusting to making the right plays with and without the puck

He's only 22 though. Raw, rangy 6'4 defensemen that need the kind of refining he does will need lots more time as we know. Next year he should be forcing the Wings hand and if he isn't, he's more/less just an AHL guy long term

Personally I'm more than okay with using Wallinder as a trade piece if that means we bring in a legitimate NHL middle pair D or a top 6 forward
