Prospect Info: Grand Rapids Griffins, 2024 - 2025 Season

Also Danielson

Nate needs to add some bulk, he got manhandled in his only fight. GR does a good job of bulking kids up, even Mazur added some much needed strength and weight. Seeing how Joey, Burger, and Kasper all got up to NHL size, I'm sure Nate will also put on 10 lbs or so next summer.

In any case, has anyone else noticed that Lombardi is on 1 point per game pace if you take away the first 3 scoreless games? 1 point per game for a prospect is my threshold for a callup, if he sustains that for 30 games or so he deserves at least a few games. He's small so I dunno if his game will transfer, but at least he's bigger than Kane.

I'd like to see Nate called up for a few games as well. Getting outmuscled in the NHL is a huge motivator for these kids to bulk up, like Ray for example though he never played for GR.

Didn't see it, but crazy long shootout results in a W for the Griffs. Filppula can chime in, but seems like Cossa was pretty big time in the OT/SO.

Has Watson been called up or is that just wishful thinking. He deserves it. Can’t help but think Tuo could replace a couple of guys in Detroit quite capably. Nice win Griffs

Missed the game. Can anyone fill me in on what Söderblom did to get a double minor at the 20:00 mark of the 3rd period?

Looks like he is close to being ready for our fourth line in Detroit. Gotta work on his timing of getting two roughing penalties in OT however. Bring him and Watson up

There's a glitch of some kind in the AHL summary, starting with play-by-play in OT. Game highlights have no explanation for Elmer getting a roughing penalty at 20:00 of third period, and another at 0:00 of OT. His game total in the team summary shows 4 PIM, but very odd to be assessed roughing minors at those times and no other player involved. Starting in the first minute of OT with a SOG by Bellows, every action in the play-by-play is entered twice. The SO also initially had every action duplicated, but has been corrected. Cossa is still credited with 12 OT saves, but may only be 7 if the duplicates are removed. The highlights package includes what seems to be a great save in OT by Cossa on Hinostroza. .Nice pass by Danielson to Watson for the two-man advantage PP goal.

Even though he didn't pick up any points, it's nice to see Becher have 3 shots last game. Hopefully he's starting to settle in.

It's not like I concentrated on game yesterday , but I don't remember seeing him. Don't worry about him, it will take some time to fully recover from knee injury, still young.
Elmer was noticable, with some thunder hits
