I give it a D, love the first pick but every other pick is an abomination. If not for that 1st, I'd say this was the worst draft I've ever seen from the Rangers (perhaps worst in NHL history), easy F. But the first pick is so great that it elevates it to a D. Really think Drury had to strategy going into them, didn't swing for fences on skill or any elite tools. Just took a bunch of big oafs who are committed to college hockey. Not much creativity in these picks. Are two overagers?

Okay. I gave it an A. Considering the draft slots we had. IMO Perrault is an A+ no brainer at 23. I’m happy overall with what we got with the limited selections we made in the spots we made them.
BUT…
If you want to judge by what we walked away with from a draft as a whole I’d say B- or C+. Since aside from our A+ first rounder and B almost fourth rounder everyone else is pure mystery long shot. (In other words: late round C’s)

This is a home run draft now, confirmed.

how did we end up with the Henricks pick? did we always have it ?

This isn't the NFL the chances that a 3rd round pick + is even an NHLer are miniscule. If the first pick is an A and the other picks were Fs given the weight of the first pick the draft is much better than a D. But you wouldn't be you if you didn't complain about everything.

I hope the irony of you of all people saying this isn't lost on you

Tampa Bay letting it's head scout go if he feels like it should let everyone know there is no secret sauce and it's all the same dillweeds evaluating the same way.

seems silly to grade a draft 1 day after.

Jovo, apologize if missed it, can we get your picks at each spot?

Very happy with the Perreault pick given how the board fell. Fortescue should be a good add and provide some needed defensive depth down the line. Henricks could be an intriguing draft and stash guy from a physical perspective. I’d probably give it a B overall, maybe B-.

My main takeaway is that the Rangers need to be a bit more efficient in how they handle draft assets because it would’ve been a lot more helpful to have another 2nd or 3rd in this draft. On a more positive note, they should have fun depth coming along soon in guys like Berard, Cuylle, and Sykora. All 3 would adds elements that this group has been missing the last 2 years.

I would've traded back and got more picks because those players would've been available but for fun these are who I would've taken in each of those spots

Gracyn Sawchyn RW (1st, 23rd)
Alexander Rykov RW (3rd, 90th)
Timur Mukhanov C (5th, 152nd)
Ignat Lutfullin F (6th, 178th)
Connor Levis C (6th, 183rd)

B, but I’m not going to pretend I know anything about these kids other than Perreault. Just going off what other people who know what they are talking about have said.
