Carcillo for NYR 7th
Scrivens for EDM 3rd
Deslaurier & Fasching for Brayden McNabb, Jonathan Parker and two 2nds
Frattin, 2nd and conditional 3rd for Gabby
James Livingston (I presume) for Conditional 7th

Still unhappy with the departure of Carcillo, Fasching and Des, but I would have to give Dean a solid B+

8/10. B.

Not bad. The latest trades are too early to tell, but probably fine.

Scrivens set NHL record for shots blocked in a game as soon as he was traded and just got signed a 2 year extension. It would have been much harder to let him go had he done that before being traded, so it's more understandable I suppose.

Edit: Changed 7 to 8, B- to B. If the fans are happy, he deserves a bump. Still, time will tell really.

8.5 / 10

But, at the same time, he had no choice but to make these moves, especially Gaborik. Is he the "missing piece" on offense, we will see, especially if he's healthy.

The only GM that did better is Bergevin who stole Vanek.

GKG!

Lombardi improved the club and we didn't lose anything we'll need while the window was open.

A-

Would need a top 4 defenseman for the A.

A-

Great utilization of assets. Acquired valuable picks for unproven prospects, enhanced our depth on defense which lessens any defensive loss this offseason, and acquired a top 6 goal scoring threat without losing a player from the lineup.

Decent return on Bernier, especially prior to the market getting flooded this season. Glad he got something for Carcillo too.

Lots of A's before seeing the new additions play or knowing how the prospects turn out. With that said, he most likely made some good moves today, even if they underperform. If they work out and the prospects that got let go don't turn into valuable beasts, I change my 8 to a 9 btw.

Carcillo for NYR 7th - who cares

Scrivens for EDM 3rd - B, turned an asset the Kings no longer had use for and would lose at the end of the season into a draft pick

Deslaurier & Fasching for Brayden McNabb, Jonathan Parker and two 2nds - B+, traded a couple of good prospects that were a couple of years away at least for a defenseman that is NHL ready, a LH shot, big and physical, and judging by the number of assists he has can pass the puck. The Kings badly needed a Greene and/or Mitchell replacement as soon as now, and they got one.

Frattin, 2nd and conditional 3rd for Gabby - A, a typical well-calculated low-risk, high-reward move by Dean, and he hung onto the Kings' 1st round pick while addressing a need.

Overall - A-

For Today's needs...it's a B+

If you look at it this way the jury's out, but probably anywhere from a C to a B (unless they win another Cup):

Gaborik (likely a rental)
Regehr (+3 yr deal)
McNabb (Can't be worse than Muzzin)
Parker (Who knows)
EDM 3rd (lows 60's pick)

for

Bernier
Fasching
DeLauriers
Conditional 3rd

You forgot Frattin. Don't blame you though, he's the Invisible Man.

I give him an A based on the moves.

Lombardi improved the team on paper without removing a Roster player of worth.

Prospects are just that....Prospects.

Never marry yourself to prospects. They have proven nothing at the NHL level.

Lombardi also made moves without giving up Toffoli/Vey/Pearson/Kings 1st round pick.

Futa and company get too swing the bat in Round one and two again this year.
WELL DONE.

I agree, but it's gotta sting when they go on to be great NHL players. But i'm not a psychic.

B+ and that's only because I'm still bitter about Hudson Fasching.

It is encouraging, however, to see the stats McNabb has put up in Juniors and the AHL and hear Lombardi say he's a potential top-four dman.

I didn't have to add Frattin or Scrivens or the conditional 2nd pick, I added what the Kings got for those guys and then I added Bernier.

K, the way you presented it kinda confused me since you included Gaborik and didn't mention giving up Frattin. W/e

i'll give him a solid B. if he would have somehow swung a decent NHL ready Dman instead of Gaborik i would've been thrilled

Seeing what MacDonald returned....I am glad Lombardi stayed away from NHL defenders.

MacDonald is terrible, and got a damn good return.

MTL/Buffalo would have wanted a fortune for Markov/Ehrhoff.

On paper, its a Bish, because he got quality assets for virtually nothing, in general.

But its bumped up to an A when you realize WE HAD ZERO CAP ROOM

Lombardi asked about Gaborik two months ago, according to the Kings Vision interview.

Said scouting staff wanted McNabb for a while.
