How about Lindy Ruff? Can we find a replacement for him too?
I have to think, if Ruff's going anywhere, that Greg Brown is set to be his heir apparent. He has too high of a coaching pedigree to be limited to our eyes-in-the-sky coach that co-manages the powerplay with David Oliver.

I really valued his 1994 Fleer card. He had some good years in Florida, but 8 year old me just liked the Panther logo.

Interesting to note he was a 9th round pick. He should have a natural inclination to favor some of the less heralded guys (looking at you, Lindgren).

yeah and you can also have complimentary personalities on the coaching staff where one guy uses the wipe but another is the one who puts his arm around the guy

Yeah, in Sweden we have this saying that it’s good to have a ‘good police, bad police’ tandem when interrogating a suspect. One that beats him up and a female one that gets intimate with him to get pillow talk. Not sure if you have it in the US?

Gord Murphy is about as old-school, dyed-in-the-wool Canadian hockeymen as they come.

Yeah for sure, but he is also very experienced and has been a round a long time. I definitely think these guys are able to put the bar at a level that suits the environment.

I like this hiring for sure, I have a feeling it’s an expensive one lol. But that’s great, Dolan can afford it.

LOL. We do have "Good Cop, Bad Cop" but it generally doesn't involve a female cop f***ing the suspect. The bad cop is overly-aggressive, very confrontational, threatening, etc., to try to break down the suspect. Then the good cop is empathetic, tries to almost befriend the suspect, maybe throws out some scenarios about how "yeah you did it, but maybe it was an accident" and stuff like that.

Garth Butcher ftw

Probably inappropriate, but I'd enjoy a Best Hockey Names thread.
Quietly, I put (too much) stock in names predicting success.

Sign me up. I don't see how a guy named Dave Scatchard isn't going to be successful.

I like the hire.

Gord is a rule follower. You give him the policy and the agenda/direction for the organization and he sticks to it. He'll be good for having guys prepared and ready to go to fit into Quinn's system.
