The f***ing kid gloves Skinner is treated with is hilarious. It's pro sports, team doesn't want to make him available, he should say "f*** that, it's my job to own this"

Baby soft handling of this f***ing moustache.
The media treats him like a puppy half the time anyways.
Shit on Skinner “no it’s the ds fault”
Shit on Nurse or Skinner “no it’s Bouchard fault”

I am actually fuming this morning looking at the replay of McDavid getting double cross checked in the neck and back and his "teammates" giving the Canucks some relatively gentle love taps afterwards. I didn't really get a good look at it until now and the team reaction is completely inexcusable, game was over so f***ing plant those MFers. Bouchard in particular slowly getting into the fray and barely even grabbing Soucy.

Have you seen the way they talk about any of the goofs off the ice? Dustin Schwartz is a saint and Holland is a god.

About half the time the goalie makes a hero save. If you watched the games you would see that.

Didn’t even require a hero save. Skinner had the save right there with the entire bottom of the net blocked and decided to poke check and opened right up so a soccer ball could get under him then maybe he changed his mind but he fell on his ass.

Anytime a goalie is on his ass after a goal is not a good thing.

You’re right, the defense was excellent yesterday. But at least Holland gets to ride off into the sunset after doing f*** all for four years.
The defence outside the Nurse pairing were fine. Limited chances quite well outside the first. And even then, Skinner didn’t make one save you’d expect a starter to make. He played like a below average backup.

He is playing so bad he is making Silovs look great.

Of course the Playoff board has Jets and Flames fans running with that shitty narrative

Probably the same Jets fans that think Hellebuck played great in round 1 lol
Nurse and Ceci suck this round. Skinner is worse.

It was so obvious. All I could think of after Vegas eliminated us was at least it’s finally crystal clear, Nurse-Ceci is a liability and goaltending is not good enough.

Depth scoring is another issue. We just need a decent f***ing gm that will make a move when a guy like Lafferty is just sitting there available.

Anyway, everyone, expect the worst in these games and it’ll sting a lot less. You never know what will happen in a series but don’t let this shit get you actually upset

It's just crazy that his response to them not being good enough to beat Vegas was to lose Bjugstad, Kostin, replace them with Brown and Holloway, do nothing to address the Nurse-Ceci issue, do nothing to address the goaltending issue and give up a 1st+4th for players that are contributing nothing. This is in addition to anchoring the team to two of the worst contracts in the league, a 2nd pair D making $9.25m and an AHL goalie (who got lit up in the AHL playoffs) making $5m.

For as good as the Ekholm and Hyman additions were, Holland's legacy will wind up being that he wasted the prime of arguably the two best players of this generation by failing year after year to address critical areas of need. Depth scoring, defense and goaltending. It was the 3 major needs when he arrived and still are.

The defense allowed a few wide open looks that you just can’t be giving up. Team went to sleep after they scored first. Silovs will happily save our muffins all day.

We needed a 3c and a top 6 goal scorer. So he got a healthy scratch 4c and an older Nuge.
He added Stecher but coaching staff thinks Ceci is good.

Team had a rough first but controlled the game after the 1st. Goal 4 was the only even decent chance the team allowed in 2 periods. Goal 4 cost us the game. That’s a save you need your guy to save.

It’s almost like Two things can be true… bad D early and not one save from skinner unlike the other teams goalie
You cannot take extended lapses in play. The Oilers should have pushed the pace after they scored but they played fire drill hockey in their own end. They didn’t wake up until they were down two instead of being on their toes.

How the f*** does he even end up on his ass? Why is he break dancing?!

JFC.

And some people say he has no fault in the goal. 😂
All he had to do was go butterfly and seal the bottom of the net instead he tried a seal flop lol. So bad

Every single team has extended lapses you don’t have a clue. Ever watch any other games? Clearly not

If nothing else, game four will be interesting in that we'll really see what the 2024 Oilers are made of. Backs are against the wall. The Canucks had a ton of good luck (and favorable calls) in game three, and it went their way. If the Oilers put another 40+ shots on net in game four, I have to think they'll tie the series. Anyway, if they don't, the series is over, so again we'll really see what the guys are made of either way.

Skinner is clearly a good goalie overall who (so far) can't get it done in the playoffs. There's some issue with his confidence, I would suggest. He just doesn't look confident, isn't challenging enough, looks beatable. Will also be very interesting to see what the coaches decide for game four.

The other major issue (not for the first time) is the lack of depth scoring. So, let's see: Aside from the big three forwards, here's how the other forwards have done at even strength in three games so far, in points:
1 - RNH
1 - Ryan
0 - Kane
0 - Holloway
0 - Foegele
0 - Henrique
0 - Janmark
0 - Brown
0 - McLeod
0 - Perry

So, yeah, that's not getting it done. Somebody else needs to score, and they need to do it in game four.

The most frustrating thing is that the Oilers appeared -- through most of the Knoblach takeover era -- to have finally solved their ES scoring problem. But late in the regular season, they went back to no scoring at evens. And it's carried over into the playoffs.
Confidence issue you say? The same player that constantly tells media he thought he played well except for xyz goals?

Vancouver has 10 minutes of crap play to start the 3rd. Silovs made the saves.

Canucks were more than happy to let the Oilers take shots from the outside. You and I have both seen this exact scenario play out so many times this year.

we have had zero physical response to Vancouver, and no depth scoring to show for it. The majority of this roster is not contributing anything offiensively or anything physically/emotionally.

I hope McDrai rip into the rest of the team because it's pathetic to not only watch these passengers play, but also fail to intimidate and play the body or defend teammates on home ice.

I go back to game 3 against the Kings where the Oilers dominated from start to finish. Where did that team go?

It didn’t go anywhere, we are playing a tough team.
That game against the Kings the high danger chances were identical to this game. Difference was goaltending on both sides.

You aren’t going to dominate teams in the playoffs. Games will be back and forth. If we can only win games we dominate we aren’t going to go very far.
