I just got back from a quick simulator session. The place had a cool special where you put in 10 bucks, randomly assigned a tour pro and play the back 9 at Valhalla on the simulator. You couple your score with the pro's best score throughout the week.

I entered and got Shane Lowry, which is pretty good. They had the entire field in there, so there are some stinker choices... I ended up shooting 5 over on the simulator --two doubles and one bogey. 6 pars.

They had this auto putt thing where you basically had to stick it to ~4' on every approach shot otherwise it was an automatic two-putt. I can never chip on the simulators, it's not a strong point in my game anyways, but I just don't know how hard to hit it. On the doubles, I missed the green with the approach, and had to chip twice because both times I over shot the landing spot.
Bit of an update. Lowry went 6 under on the front 9 on Saturday. I ended up winning the special..Not many joined in, I only ended up winning 50 bucks, but it's still pretty cool.

I played golf today. One of the guys hit a bird. And by that I mean a real bird.

He hired his 2nd shot that was landing shots of the green but right on line to hop up onto it. However, it hit a bird who was just there minding his business. The bird didn't move after being hit while 2 of us took our 2nd shots. As we approached the green, he finally flew off, likely a little dazed.

When I was ~8 I hit a drive farther than my dad for the first time. It was a blind tee shot up a hill.

I hit a pretty good drive for me at the time, but when we got over the hill there was a ball in the middle of the fairway well shorter than we expected for my shot.

We get up to the ball and it's not mine... it's my dad's ball and ended up significantly shorter than his regular drives because it hit a bird... evidenced by said bird motionless about 20 yards away... this bird did not get up and fly away...

For the first time I've had all 4 guys make the weekend. Terrible day for Fitzpatrick puts him tied for last, then I've got T32, T20 and T2. Perhaps a chance of not finishing last

Man, Bryson picked a bad time to feel the pressure. Momentum was turning towards him.

Snap, Rory gives it right back.

Rory doing Rory things. Wheels falling off.

I have Bryson in another pool which is using the prize money...so 1st vs 2nd is a big gap.

In our pool here, no real difference
My suggestion of switching to finish number instead of prize money may be to my detriment this year.

I had three guys in the top 10 most of the tournament. Aberg and Bhatia slipped a bit today.
