I just realized that I never updated the spreadsheet after the PGA. I'll do that now.

Also, @Hollywood Cannon we should probably close that other thread - I'll post the breaking news in here.

I just searched golf and that was the first one to pop up. Your plan works, the search function on this site does not.

Post on the OT thread, but I'll post it here as well.

Man, this is wild. The PGA caved faster than Dunder MIfflin did with Michael Scott's Paper Company. The Tour never told the players and it sounds like they are furious. Guys like DJ and Brooks got the bag last year and now will be back next year, hundreds of million dollars richer. Can't imagine how Rory feels right now. Guy went to bat for the PGA Tour for the last year and it was all for nothing.

The Public Investor Fund (PIF) which is the Saudi Arabian investment fund that currently is around $600 billion and started the LIV is going to be a 'premier corporate sponsor all leagues/this group endeavor going forward'

So after a year or more of trashing the golfers who joined the LIV. Public fights calling them 'sell-outs' or even 'traitors' for taking 'blood money' (granted perhaps not stated as such by the PGA tour officially, but certainly by PGA golfers)

now the PGA tour is like "Gonna get me some of that SAUDI MONEY BOIZ!"

This was something he posted a week ago. Everything he said pretty much means he has to officially quit because he's now 'a part of' everything he accused and built up the LIV and their affiliation with the Saudi's to be moving forward as part of the PGA.

This is a PR disaster for the PGA, but it will blow over probably quicker than it should.

Sucks for guys like Rory who took a principled stance. How do they feel now playing for Saudi money?...

I don't think it's going to blow over as quickly as you think. The current Tour members are probably livid. 99% of them found out this morning the same time everyone else did and they were told for the last two years that anyone who leaves the Tour and goes to LIV will not be allowed back. There are a number of players who turned down hundreds of millions of dollars to stay with the Tour because Jay told them they pretty much had to, now Jay goes and sells out to LIV. The players are having a players only meeting today, I would love to be a fly on the wall for that

I think they'll ask Monahan to resign, but ultimately the players are going to be fine accepting those fat paycheques.

It should never blow over, really, but it will because money talks.

Eh, there's worse things than getting partially paid to play sport with Saudi money.

Like selling a stolen, confidential battle plan for a US invasion of Iran to the Saudi government.

Monahan has been named the CEO of whatever got created today. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like he's going to be going anywhere

He probably won't go anywhere, but it won't be for lack of trying by guys who now feel betrayed.

I'm sure Monahan got a nice bonus for agreeing to bring the PGA and LIV together. I doubt he cares what the players think of him now.

Rory is already saying this merger is good for golf.

Drama blew over faster than I expected.
Saw that he was like "I still hate the LIV... yea we're getting PIF (Saudi money), but we're still the PGA tour and not the LIV"

lol. Whatever dude. You taking that Saudi money and increasing the purses and amount you get... but yea, pretend like you're 'above it'.

Played White Clay Creek today. Place was pure. They had their club championship this weekend, so the greens were rolling about a 12 with some of the ridiculous pin placements. Shot a 39 on the front, back, not so well
