Golf: GOLF: 2025 Edition -- PGA Tour Schedule (OP)

This is the most cringey thing about LIV. They all support each other to a delusional extent. Niemann doesn’t even have a top 10 in a major. Hard to take him seriously right now.

He did this last year before the Masters, winning a bunch of tournaments and tricking people into thinking he was a top-10 player. Didn't look it at the majors, but he's probably bound for a good result sooner rather than later.

Rory vs. Spaun in a playoff tomorrow. I don't think there was a putt of consequence made over five feet today. Not a great showing from the leaders.

-Phil is a clown, Aaron Rodgers of golf. At the poin where I ignore everything he says.

-McIlroy has 2 wins in Elevated Events in 4 starts this year, while playing good but not quite his best, yet. He is trending upwards for sure. He won't be slept on in the majors.

-JJ Spaun is insufferable to watch when camera has to focus and hone in on him. Slow and deliberate player who kept going back and forth with and questioning his caddie. Boring and unaesthetic player. Whiffed both driver swings right in playoff, he was doing that all week @ Sawgrass and was getting away with it.

I’ve started finding Phil amusing. He’s a total troll. I’d love to see him get a gig with CBS or NBC. 100% he’d do an amazing job. Would be the next Johnny Miller or better.

I didn’t like him as a golfer for the overwhelming majority of his career. I found some of his cheating incidents to be pretty pathetic, but after that crazy PGA win when his competitive career was pretty much finished I’ve found the positives in him.

The LIV thing kind of nuked his reputation, and it was bad for golf, but he wants to be the center of attention, and he pretty much was the impetus for reshaping the golf landscape.

Fully agreed. I think he did one afternoon with Jim Nantz on CBS where he filled in for an hour or two and he was really good. Might be the biggest failure in the whole LIV saga was the loss of Phil in the Johnny Miller 'truth teller' role. Right now, he just comes across as a contrarian.

In other LIV news, Dustin Johnson just had his first top-5 in over a year this past week in Singapore. Nobody took their money and ran quite like he did.

Phil is a total phony....let's not compare him to Johnny Miller.

It's actually kinda mind boggling to me that the LIV Golf circuit still exists. I haven't seen or heard anything about it in sometime, truly no one gives a damn about it. Would rather scratch my junk and watch my grass grow than watch that sheeeit.

Like even the bots on twitter can't even defend or pump that shit anymore it feels like. total garbage.

There's no juice at all with LIV right now. It might've peaked in that week, I think it was Pebble last year, when LIV was the only golf being played on Sunday and the tournament had a really good finish. All downhill since then.

It felt like the Adelaide tournament had less energy this year, too, and that's become their flagship event. Washed tour?

I truly believe they had an organized propaganda network trying to artificially pump up the interest and dicussion for the first 2-3 years. My guess is they've mostly ceased that around when the whole merger/negotiation thing was annnounced.

It's trash and always has been to me. Tried watching it and just couldn't. Everything about it from corny ass teams, blaring music, realizing there's no stakes involved (no actual prize money, OWGR etc.) shotgun starts on unfamiliar courses, it was always unwatchable to me.

The PGA Tour has really rebounded, you see it with TV Ratings and interest and dicussion on Social Media. While LIV seems to be dying. Dying not in a financial sense as the backers have all the money in the world but in a sense that no one gives a shit about it and IMO, probably gives PGAT and it's players more leverage in negotiations.

A lot of these LIV guys are probably starving to get back to playing real golf in the 'major leagues' where winning a tournament is real and means something, and I believe they might make concessions they weren't willing to make at first when you look at the direction of both Tours to try and get something done sooner than later.
