#WeNeverGetAGoodCoach
I’m so bored with this team
I contend that our improvement over the last couple weeks has zero to do with strategy or game planning. It's all about playing with intensity and a better attitude. It's like a mix of 1-3-1 and 1-2-2 to me. But it seems like the players aren't as confused where to go than before, finally.
I don’t know. Is there a metric for compete level? For playing a bit bigger? Hits are quantified but not qualified. It’s a tough one.Is it possible to compare the analytics of the entire team with and without Rempe? Maybe this is the bridge we're looking for.
I understand correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation but the sample size is growing and hard to ignore.
I'm not an expert but isn't the point of analytics trying to identify metrics that are more or less indicative of styles of hockey that can win games?
With Rempe, it's as if he's cutting the Gordian knot and bypassing traditional analytics metrics and going straight to the Win column.
I say this as someone who finds analytics interesting and useful but far from perfect.
Of course you are right, Rempe isn’t winning all of those games. BUT I think the inference can be made that his presence in the lineup is an overall positive, not the ridiculous detriment that his haters insist he is, that he certainly doesn’t cause the team to LOSE. Because they factually do less of that with him in the lineup.
The Rangers threw their tantrum because they had to do their homework and realized they still have to do their homework and ended up doing their homework. Too bad they'll still probably get a C in the class because they slacked.
Theres no doubt that opponents rush and make bad decisions when Rempe is bearing down on the forecheck in a way that they don’t with other players coming at them. That’s valuable and worthwhile if he can cut down the penalties.
Not sure if it was a conscious thing, and if it was why it took this long, but not ceding territory when the other team is attacking is making a huge, huge difference. Right now, they’re playing defense in their opponents zone and in the neutral zone in a way they haven’t in maybe years.
I’d bet they make the playoffs and make another good run. Theres too much talent and when they play like this they’re a lot to handle.
Also, love Kaliyev but worried he’s the type of Kakko ish player the coaches don’t see the value in
who is the teacher in this scenario?Pretty good analogy.
They had a teacher that really liked them last year too, so they were able to get by being good test takers. This year they actually had to do their HW but since they were able to get by last year neglecting it, they thought they were special and shouldn’t be forced to. Like you said, they finally realized they’re going to have to do it whether they throw a tantrum or not, but now they’re so far behind, they’ll be lucky to pass.
who is the teacher in this scenario?
Holy shit is Trochek's game the highest "event" game of the year?
The collective borgening agreement doesn't say it has to entertain you like Tob.I’m so bored with this team

I'm afraid you're right. He is on a different plane of consciousness.Come on man. Make it realistic. Tob is too high of a standard for any team/person to match.
Effort wasn’t there and once you stop - it’s not easy to regainDid like the Rangers have amnesia for two months and learned how to play defense again?
I’d be perfectly fine if they in-season resigned both Vaaka and BorgThis team is gonna go on a tear, self rent all their guys they should be trading and become buyers at the deadline only to get dummied by the Florida Tax-Frees in round 1. Love the NHL
especially for the fraction of a costBorgen in particular is a vast improvement over Trouba, and he hasn't even gotten his zone exits perfected yet.
Both newcomers bring physicality and enough speed which is exactly what modern hockey D is required (unless we’re talking skills of Fox natureIt's like a mix of 1-3-1 and 1-2-2 to me. But it seems like the players aren't as confused where to go than before, finally.
Likely a Housley brainstorming i'der.......LOL....It's like a mix of 1-3-1 and 1-2-2 to me. But it seems like the players aren't as confused where to go than before, finally.
I know...it seems all we do of late is win . Organized play is hard on the eyes....I fell asleep at the end of period one . Now the Pens and Ottawa game was really organized CHAOS !!! I thought it was going to get real ugly fast but cooler heads prevailed with both playing today and points becoming valuable Pens gave up the 2 points .I’m so bored with this team
i agree with your premise but i think you have the math backwards.. talent gets you in the top half of the league. Will is what separates winners from losers come spring. It's not about guys figuring it out, or remembering how to be effective, or anything along those lines. It's effort, effort, effort.
If the effort isn't there, there isn't enough talent on the planet to make a team succeed. This isn't basketball or baseball; there is an element of will in hockey that needs to be present just to be in the top half of the league.
As Rangers fans, we should know this better than any other fanbase. In the last 30 years, We've gotten a very close look at both extremes of being with or without will.
