I have loved Nurse's game today, and kind of confounded by some of the comments here, although lots of good too.

Those complaining about Nurse jumping in on offense like that have not been paying attention to the teams game plan. All of the top 4 D have been jumping in like that, and while Nurse has been jumping up much more often, he also seems to be the best at it. Even though he may do it when it is a bit iffy, you have to accept that he is not going to make a high pace read at 100% rate, but the positive is much greater than the negative here.

If Nurse or the other D were not getting the green light to be aggressive about jumping in, he wouldn't be given so much ice time.

I can't see why anyone could possibly think this was over at 5-1. These are kids, not aged veterans. They WILL make mistakes in such a highly emotional environment. This kind of stuff never happens at the men's level. Certainly makes for more entertaining hockey.

Reinhart will be important in the third. If this team is gonna survive through this game, he will have to be the leader. This team lives or dies with him.

I'm putting the load on El Capitano, Lazar.

He's on a line that gets opportunities, he's shown he has an inclination to come up big (plenty of Oil Kings games), and he's a winner.

Bring it home, Curtis!

Let's just survive the power play and take it from there.

That post you quoted made me laugh out loud. I think they are being sarcastic and mocking the posts we always see in the years when we didn't take 4 scoring lines just to be a troll.
Ya perhaps.

I think the focus towards more speed & skill this year was the right way to go, they just made some poor decisions, like leaving Fluery at home, giving guys like Fucale & Gauthier automatic spots with no competition, exc.

Wrote a whole paragraph saying what I felt about these tournaments. Went to post and the last thread was closed.

I'll do a quick sum up now.

1) I am a Leaf fan first and foremost, but I love seeing the growth of hockey.
2) I haven't been emotionally attached to Team Canada for about 2/3 years now
3) These are kids
4) Give respect to the other teams, it is no longer "our game". Respect given where due.
5) It is not the refs
6) Band wagoners (not HF posters) need to understand this. Nothing more frustrating then those who become fans for a couple games and feel like they can predict the future of these kids and pump our teams tires. Imo, they create most of the pressure.
7) Own the hills with the valleys.
8) Players need to also use their skill, this is a skill tournament. No need to be physical. It gives other teams something to build around. When Canada has run around throwing a ton of hits we have lost.
