What do you think's our greatest need?

If we had a shot at picking up a legitimate 1st line centre, or a starting goalie which would you choose?

It seems we're in the same position with both, its hard to see where a top centre or goalie will come from without giving up a fortune to get one.

Every year we hang onto the hope of a big name UFA that ends up going elsewhere, Getzlaf will be this years.

Realistically, do you think we have a genuine shot a getting either a top centre or goalie in the next few years.. if so, where from?

Both if we plan on becoming a contender some time soon. I know the answer seems like an easy out but Leafs desperately need another Sundin and Cujo/Belfour to really catapult them into a playoff spot and really make some noise.

goalie...

you can have a horrible team if you have solid goaltending your going to compete. Look at Calgary, with a horrible roster Kipper stands on his head and keeps them competitive... that team should have been last place the last 2 seasons.

If the leafs trade for luongo (and i'm not even interested in that discussion anymore) than this team is almost a lock for the playoffs. If you look at the top 10 goalies in the NHL - all their teams are in the playoffs other than Montreal/Calgary

A goalie plays 60 minutes a night. A #1 centre plays 20.

Who has more effect on the game?

Goalie>Centre. Kessel is fine with Lupul and whoever in the middle, they'll always produce and get chances.
