So, with Bernier's last game @CAL, you think Sutter might turn to him for the next couple of games?

Quick's still shaky at times, and the defense seems to love the poise of Bernier.

How is having two great goalies a crisis?

Can we have a 'crisis' on the forward lines and defense as well?

No crisis and Sutter is not going to turn to JB. We have a Conn Smythe winning goalie signed to a 10 year deal. He will never, ever lose his job. Bernier will hopefully keep playing well when he gets his chances, much like Schneider did for Van last season. Then we can get a big return for him :)

I am all for Dean having to do "crisis management" in these areas.

The only crisis Dean has in terms of Bernier right now is...

actually there isn't a crisis at all. Dean is probably hoping that when the time comes he can keep him out of whatever division or conference or whatever you want to call it that the Kings play the most games against after re-alignment takes place.

definately not a crisis.
Yes Bernier has won three in a row, but with how good quick looked against Edmonton I think you go back to Quick.

Not even close.

Quick still a bit rusty coming off back surgery and lockout. He'll be fine. Hopefully Bernier keeps playing well to raise his trade value.

Quick played great against Edmonton. He'll get the start against Colorado. Bernier will see more games for sure as the schedule gets tighter.

So you would go with Bernier then?

No, I did not say that. I was backing Quick.

I would go with Quick. Let him work through his struggles and shake the rust off and gear up for the playoffs. He is still the man. A shaky 12 game start does not erase what he has done for the past 4 years in my mind.

I'm saying hopefully Bernier keeps playing well when called upon (such as in back to backs) so his trade value rises for us to deal him at the deadline for scoring or defense if Dean feels comfortable doing so.

If he doesn't perform he will lose his job.

Luongo is signed for 12 years and lost his job (although he's in the process of winning it back).

This just shows that you have to be around a player every day in order to determine if he has lost it altogether or is just having a bad year or a slump.

What you described is the opposite of a crisis. Having two competent goaltenders is a blessing. Quick had a good game against Edmonton as well. If we get a great offer at the trade deadline, Bernier is still gone. It will be very unlikely to see Bernier at the start of the next training camp, so by the draft at the latest.

Quick is the #1 goalie. No "crisis" in LA.

Bernier's next start should be March 4th against Nashville. Quick can start on the 5th against St. Louis.

Soudns liek a good gameplan to me.
Is it just me or does Bernier seem to start against Nashvlle a fair bit?

I'd like bernier to start Colorado because of their good fast offense, their offense would expose Quicks tendency to be over aggressive. I'd feel more comfortable If bernier played Colorado.

A.) like others have said NO CRISIS ... we'll NEED to have TWO Solid goalies coming up.

B.) because have you seen the MARCH SCHEDULE ?

Bernier will get more than a couple games this Month, with all those back to backs (4 b2b's in 1 month ... whoa !).

C.) It only ups his trade value ... so it's all good !
