What to call this game? The 'elimination night', the 'vanishing point', the 'turn out the lights, the party's over' night?

Next two games against the Stars and Av's on the road--bordering on 'unwinnable'......unless both teams decide to rest their top players. Unfortunately for the Canucks, they still have things to play for.

I just can't see anyone on this current roster who's a 'threat' to further derail the Canucks draft position. Maybe Demko.....but even that's not a given after his up-and-down performances.

The 2024-25 season countdown is on.....thank Gawd!
Event horizon

From which nothing can escape a black hole of regret and dejection, where to the outside observer you appear frozen in time for eternity, all hope crushed into such an infinitesimally small pocket that not even the light or gravity itself can escape

Or just another April Canucks game. Same diff

* Quinn Hughes needs 4 points to tie Alex Edler for the most by a Canucks' defensemen, 5 to beat.
* Brock Boeser needs 1 point to hit 50.
* Conor Garland needs 1 goal to hit 20.
* Kiefer Sherwood is 3 goals from 20, 3 points from 40.
* Jake DeBrusk is 4 goals away from a new career best, and 7 points away from a new career best.

These are the things I am cheering for down the stretch, especially Hughes' continued re-writing of Canucks record books.

I really hope during the post-season autopsy with Allvin and Rutherford, we finally find out exactly what kind of injury Hughes was dealing with.

My guess is he's gutting it out at no more than 70 percent......in the last game with Vegas, it was truly painful watching him at times. And I really hope if tonight's game ends as expected, that they just shut him down.

I'd really like to see Kudryavtsev or even Wilander for a few games to wind up the season.

Wallander will arrive for the SJ and LV games. I can't see him traveling to Van for the Min game if BU loses in the semis.

KK, up to the team if the get eliminated to decide if they wish to give anyone a cup of coffee. Abby has been on a tear over the past 13 games or so might not want to mess that up before they head into the AHL PO.

DeSmith won the last game against us back in March, but we only had 23 shots on him, and Demko might make a difference tonight.

At this point, all I care about now is Demko returning to good form (and staying healthy), and our guys scoring as many goals as possible. It's risky playing Hughes, but he's a driven player who's probably making his own decision to play.

God I just want this putrid season to be over and to fast forward to mid June when shit actually starts to get interesting.
"Vancouver drafts a tiny skinny Swede with their 1st round pick."
"Vancouver trades for Gudbranson."
"Vancouver signs Jeff Skinner and Victor Olofsson."

try

"Vancouver wins next 5"
"Minnesota loses next 4"

*Actually that's quite grim

Ah we’re still saying there’s a chance.

I've never seen a more appropriate place for this gif

Aquilani is as bad as Griffiths - well worse. He's not making the players play for pride, he's addicted to that sweet, sweet playoff money, now.

Speaking of DeSmith one of the best free agent signing last offseason. He gonna save the Stars $2+ million dollars on a backup goalie for the next two years. If he was a free agent this offseason he is probably looking at $3+ million on a short term deal.
