I don't love Bains in his current state, and I think Linus Karlsson would be a substantial improvement. Bains simply doesn't have the strength right now to deal with NHL size.

He’s also hasnt been able to keep up with the pace of the game. Game seems to go by him.

People got so excited when we put Hronek with Hughes like "he's going to unlock Hughes!"

Like no... Hronek is also an offensive defenceman.

The problem is we don't really have any good defensive defensemen. Soucy is probably our best and he's not top pairing caliber. So they opt to go with Hronek because he's a RHD.

Sometimes that’s good though because you get the Luke Schenn’s of the world with not much going on offensively and it all falls to Quinn on the pair. Ideally he’d have a partner who can do both like Ekholm has done with Bouchard but that’s hard to find

Tocchet’s not going to do that. Fastest way to get even worse calls is to publicly call out the refs, to say nothing of the league fining you. It’s just make it worse.

That is not true, and this narrative needs to die, he has not said anything all season and it keeps getting worse. Watch paul maurice, cooper, great coaches and they constantly call the refs over if the call was bad. They just dont stand there and then praise the refs post game.

Yep I don't know why they're not playing. Bains was good for his first 2-3 games and then has been exposed pretty handily. I know he can be good, but it won't be this season.

I don't think I blame Desmith for too many of these goals, first one was all him obviously but it was bad luck to bobble it like that. Zadorov is having a really rough game, same with Cole, but the Canucks are just playing a bit too timid atm and not giving Desmith much support. Also don't know how much I agree with Tochet continuing to give so much icetime to Bains and the Zadorov-Cole pair after all these goals.

I disagree he committed way to hard to Eichel he need to take away Eichel space with out being that aggressive and leaving Marchessault wide open. Also he let the pass go right past him on the goal.

He panicked when Eichel got in basically unchallenged and overcommitted. It's a bad read by Zadorov but Bains put him in that position.

And this call is absolutely absurd.
