Post-Game Talk: [GM74] Canucks lose to Blues | 5-6 (OT) | Hughes(2), Kuzmenko(2), & Boeser

Unfortunately he ups his value enough to where I think management (and by that, I mean ownership) will now want to hold onto him.
I doubt it, I think management is not beholden to these players, have already tried to trade him without any success, need cap space desperately, and now is watching a player playing his way to be a more desirable asset and easier to trade.

Holy f***. We are not in tank mode. The Tank thread is closed. Losing to St Louis tonight would not have changed much. Even if we lose, we still have easy games coming u that we probly win.

While I certainly appreciate the positive elements of our improved play -- seeing Hughes and Pettersson establish themselves as superstars, Kuzmenko and Miller playing like true core pieces, the impact Tocchet is having on the team's culture, etc -- I don't want to see us fall out of the bottom 10.

Not because we are going to get Bedard (spoiler, we're not) but I still want to add a future core piece after this shitty season. Good to see our best players being able to lead comebacks, and every point from EP or QH is happy times, but no need for 3 goal comebacks at this point of the season.

On a positive note, Quinn Hughes is a really magical player, I really hope he starts getting the recognition he deserves

missed the game. had to look at real time stats as it updated. when it was 5-3 i had a feeling we would tie it. Hronek with 24:00 minutes of ice time but a -3. Dafaq happened??!!

Can someone tell me the scoring on the final goal. Was it Joshua from Hughes and Petey or Hughes from Joshua and Boeser? Not watching the game ATM
Well Joshua passed it to Boeser at the sidewall, Boeser passes to Hughes at the point, hughes shoots and looked like Joshua tipped it but nhl.com has it as a Hughes goal

This game was valuable reminder that outside of Hughes, Hronek and maybe Bear, the rest of the blueline dramatically needs to be upgraded.

But then the coach didn't have a great night either. Why replace Rathbone with Brisebois, who had a nightmarish nigh? As good a story as Brisebois has been this year, he's still an AHL d-man and will start next year in Abbotsford. They won twice with Rathbone in the lineup.....why shake it up?

And as soon as Shorty said in OT, "Hughes is going off, and being replaced by Myers" I had the trigger finger on the remote. Myers in OT? The guy can't skate, and for that matter neither can Boeser. Why Pettersson starts OT on the bench is a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

But stepping back, Hughes, Pettersson and Kuzmenko had great nights and the Canucks still lost and have the ninth worst record in the NHL. Still alive in the Bedard sweepstakes, if only barely.
