Here are some more fun facts of the playoffs:

Dallas, who got eliminated in 6 games had 20 seconds less powerplay time than Boston.

NYR, who have 2 more games played, has almost 2x as much powerplay time (95:09 compared to 51:24).

Of all teams left, Montreal has been shorthanded 16 fewer times than the next closest NYR, and has less total penalties than Dallas who only played 6 games.

PP minus PK Time - Boston ranks last at -19:52, next closest is Anaheim at -10:00.

Detriot, who only played 2 home games has more home powerplay time then boston by 3 minutes. (Dallas by nearly double)

Want to make it clear I'm not blaming the refs that we lost, but reffing this year has been a ****ing joke.

Insane.

The league has gained so much popularity in the last few years. As a fan of the sport as a whole, it's been great. But crap like this is just going to make it fade into the distance again.

:shakehead

Sad.

What stuck out for me a lot this game was just a lack of leadership.
Seems weird to say with the amount of character we have on this team but there just didn't seem to be anyone that stood up and really got this team fired up. We've come back from so much worse and it was disappointing not to really see that tonight when it mattered so much.

You mean to say that a big, tough team that plays a pretty on-the-edge style of game took more penalties than a small, fast avoid-contact type of team?

I'm SHOCKED. But seriously. The B's didn't lose because of reffing. They lost because they stopped playing their game. We've heard all season how they play a style of game well suited for the playoffs, but where was it?

As soon as Marshy got that penalty for spraying Price, I knew that it was going to be "one of those games".

Absolutely fustrating. I think I'm okay now though. The team should be ashamed of the effort they give. A little too late. No determination. Sad.x

You mean to say that some teams have 3X more penalty kill time than another? Or that 6 out of 8 teams that didn't even play in the 2nd round had more penalty kill time? Now that's SHOCKING. I"m not even putting this series on the refs. Habs deserved this. But that just amazes me.

Pretty much. As soon as that was called, it was just like "**** this ****". We've had guys whacked, hacked, held, whatever and it wasn't called and then they had the audacity to call that in a game 7?

**** them.

I have never once seen one of my fellow Bruins fans go onto another team's board and troll or gloat after a playoff series.

Why is it that every time we lose, we get bombarded by Habs, Canuck, Leaf, etc. trolls?

Because they are use to being freaking losers :handclap:

Would love to see Montreal get to the finals ......only to lose in Game # 7 on a swan dive call with 2 mins to go.........they should be ashamed

When the Doc and Eddie commented on it, that's when I was like THEY GET IT! "you don't call that in a game 7".

Obviously it wasn't the reason we lost but that officiating was terrible. We played like crap but man. You gotta be better than that. It was some Joey Crawford stuff out there (NBA fans understand)

One thing that pisses me off....Montreal getting Thomas Vanek for a 2nd round pick and prospect....meanwhile Boston gets Meszaros for a 3rd and the guy can't even crack the roster with 2 defensemen already injured (Seids + McQuaid).

And why the heck is Thornton in the lineup to play 3 and a half minutes?

Montreal wasn't going to fight.

Montreal's a bunch of wide vagina's who play the game the wrong way. Get them next year boys. Go Rangers! doesn't matter though, because whichever team makes it to the cup, the team from the West will manhandle them.

Yes. Finals should be a sweep or 5 game series.

And our only chances of a Cup if we won tonight would require Anaheim winning their game 7 and beating the Hawks. We could beat the Ducks but we'd have no chance right now against hte Hawks or Kings.

Chicago and LA Kings would have ripped this team a new one and it might have been really ugly with Rask being off his game. You need a good Tuukka, Chara who looks like he can move, and Marshy scoring timely shorties to beat one of those two and we are a long ways from that.

There's no team happier with the results of tonight than the 3 left in the West.
Whoever makes it out of there is gonna eat the ECF team up with a mother****in spoon.

Now that's pretty smart of a message...I wonder seeing that which fan base between the habs's and the Bruins's is the better...

Hopefully there are smart fans on each NHL team fan base to gagged those holding such enlightened comments...
If you don't want to see angry, anti-Hab posts, the Bruins board isn't the smart choice

I agree. I don't think all this phony sportsmanship of "good game", "tough series", "you played us hard", and "good luck next year" would be said had the Bruins won. I don't need to hear it. Gloat on your own board.

Thanks for a good year my HF Bruins fans. I'll be back here again next season. With the Bruins out of it, the NHL holds no interest for me.

Vanek kind of sucked so I'm not sad about that, but Gaborik would have been nice. And I would have liked to see Spooner in the lineup somehow even if only for one game and for short minutes. With the way the Habs were clogging lanes we really could have used his creativity.

Habs Fans: Don't come in here to troll or stir the pot. This isn't the place. If you don't like something you read here, well, perhaps the Bruins subforum isn't for you. You don't need to respond.

Alberga said on Ice Cap that he thinks the "youthful defense" was the team's undoing.

Is that just an "on paper" cop out? That seems like the easy thing to say. I didn't really think the age and lack of experience of a couple blue liners was the reason the series was lost, but I'm curious what some of you think.

Game 6 we gave them a layup 2 minutes in and it absolutely shifted the pressure from montreal to the Bruins. Rookie Dman couldn't control a D to D pass. Never recovered.

Game 7, early in the first same deal, rookie Dman makes a 2 on 1 in front of the net become a 2 on 0 gift by standing there an watching a pass go through the crease. Just blanking. Same dman was involved w/ the 3rd goal. With 2 mins left we went from a goal down to two.

Yeah, it didn't help.
