Crosby coming to Vancouver, the place he scored the most important National goal outside of Henderson in '72, would be like something out of a storybook.

I still don't see him ever leaving the Penguins, but I would make a win-now trade even if it meant losing one of Lekkerimaki or Willander.

Crosby on this team all but guarantees they make the Finals at the very least, and I see nothing stopping them from taking the Cup by force.

While I'd love Crosby for what he'd bring to the team. A part of me wouldn't want to trade for him if only because he'd completely overshadow everyone else. The narrative would instantly turn to "Crosby comes in and saves Vancouver!"

It just kind of undercuts the guys who made this season what it has been so far.

Been asking for this for awhile now, long term I’d still stack a top unit but for now it makes sense to do this just to shake things up. Sucks that Joshua is hurt because he’d be a great net front powerplay option with split units.

Jeff Paterson was commenting on how it was a surprise to see Mikheyev lining up with Pettersson after his abysmal game in Seattle. Sekeres asks if it might be a showcase? They also said that Milstein and Allvin have talked recently about Mikheyev's ice-time. The spotlight is on. Mikheyev has to start converting asap or he could be dealt.

I hope Pettersson too has a big game against PIT, like the last time he played them.
Definitely felt like a pre tdl showcase to me too, could be wishful thinking yes, but makes the most sense coming off a few trash games losing streak where tocchet was pist at him, he wasn't pking, on the 4th line and under ten mins toi..

Gimme big dick nick for shit mik+ any day of the week.

Rutherford and Allvin sit up in the stands and cheer for ?
Both teams?

Canucks should win.

Could b a couple of Penguins auditioning and maybe a couple of Canucks too.

Hopefully if there is any trade for an injured Guentzel they keep half the salary. He is 30 yrs old next season so as a rental.

Tocchet and co would put Myers on the left wall before Miller, and throw Bains on the PP before Hoglander gets an extended look

ok.jpg

Seems like the simple answer is just keep the same 5 men unit, but move JTM back to the left side? Why all the changes and putting guys like Myers on the PP with Hughes/EP? Seems like its over-complicating things when a simpler and proven solution is available? For 1 game I guess its fine, but I hope this isn't a long term thing.

Also, just looking at stats, Malkin is not where he used to be. I'm interested in watching tonight to see if he has anything left in the tank? Definitely a HHOF'er although not top 100 of all time :sarcasm:

Allvin and Tocc know exactly what they’re doing putting Myers PP1 vs the Pens.

Guentzel and M. Pettersson will be wearing blue soon!
Currently Myers is the 3rd best dman on the team, does PK too.

It is about time Myers AND Zadorov get some PP time they both have heavy shots.

The team needs to start having two defencemen on the PP. Too many short handed chances against. Don't know why Hronek isn't seeing as much time as he did when the team had a potent PP except to diminish his negotiating power.

With Myers I do worry about him playing too much and then starting to make mistakes 5 on 5. I'd rather use Zadorov on the PP1 if they want a 2nd D there.

One step forward, two steps back IMO.

Juulsen /Myers is playing well with Cole ,a Friedman/Juulsen pairing doesn’t instill confidence.

We have a better chance of winning the hockey game with Cole in the lineup than Friedman.
It's more about resting an older player for the playoffs. We can go .500 and are still favored to take the division so there's no need to maximize for regular season wins.

I totally get that..they will probably do that at the end of the season..Right now though, unless they have a better option (Soucy)..He should stay in the lineup.

Apparently, he was not too happy about being a healthy scratch about a month ago.

Hughes and Myers - PP1
Zadorov and Hronek - PP2

Have you notice they rarely have their shot speeds shown. I have seen a Zadorov wrist shot around 90 mph, funny isn't it, 60 years later under the metric system and we still use the imperial system of miles per hour. So Zadorov's wrist shot was around 144 kmh.

Cole and Soucy PK specialists with maybe rotating Soucy through the PP.

Just keep the twin towers down to around 19 minutes a game.

Myers is sure a good skater. Zadorov was the fastest Flame player too they just look soooo slow. But they aren't being beat very often.
