I'm becoming more ambivalent about these games as the season goes on. Almost at the point where I'd rather see the Canucks sell on Friday and enhance their draft position in the last 22 games..

You look at the bounty Seattle just reaped by selling Bjorkstrand and Gourde......a stack of picks coming back. If they hit on some of those picks, they'll soon be passing the Canucks.

If they don't....they will become the Canucks.

Like a lot of offensively challenged teams, the Canucks out-shot the Ducks 17-5 but come out down by one after the first period..

They're using wingers in their top-six, who simply don't belong there. But they've got little choice but to roll with them.

Guys like O'Connor, Sherwood, Hoglander and even Garland work hard--but on a good team, they'd mostly be third and fourth liners.

Exactly. Currently this team has zero player that belong in a true top 6 except maybe DeBrusk and Boeser on a good night.

On what planet is Garland a third or fourth liner?

On a cup contender he is. Last season he was on the best 3rd line in the league.
Technically the 3rd line, but he was getting top six ice time the whole season. He’s good for 35+ even strength points a season, which is very good production for 2nd line winger.

On a contender?
His production is in line with Samuelsson and Raymond who were in our top six when we were the best team in the league.

There’s not enough top six talent inn the league. It’s a diluted product in a way.
