This would be an injury that Tocchet ignored then. How many times did he say EP had to move his feet faster that he wasn't skating good enough. You would have to ask why he didn't know?Pretty much clear ep is injured with most likely chronic debilitating knee tendinitis hopefully he heals up 100% in the offseason
How can anyone train around tendonitis and not use your leg? The treatment for that kind of injury is rest, not deep knee bends or weight training. It does if you think an injury persists. It does not if you think he's not injured.
Allvin implying Pettersson is not injured is not a confirmation either way. Pettersson playing is not a confirmation either way.
Drance today: It's the same with his wrist injury in 2021-22. Everyone denied it, and then Pettersson disclosed it at the end.
A lack of confidence is seldom described as a mental block or mental issue. These phrases have different connotations, especially now.
On the NHL Edge Data:
- He started playing poorly after the ASG, the data shows a distinct lack of speed from here onward. Correlation. Fine.
- Pettersson states he suffered a knee injury from that time onward. Still correlation? Ok sure.
- He comes back, says he trained around it, speed burst and top speed still impaired in the data. Continued, heavy correlation...
At some point, the likely cause of the primary concern has to be acknowledged. When it isn't, as in the case of our exchanges, it breaks down any further discussion. We can then say nuance has been eroded to the point of boiling each position down to a mental block vs. injury (primarily), as I have done.
Just like the NHL Edge data is a data point for the injury, so too will the 4 Nations be for a mental block. Let's see what we learn there.
The Edge data stuff is over a 2/3 year period.
It was okay and even championed that Miller was just a guy, why not EP40?Never ending drama with this guy, trade him. Canucks will be a quick out if they make the playoffs and you know Petey won't be showing up for them. Rip the band aid off and move on.
Like anyone maybe he is just plain unhappy or had enough of losing here.
In how many interviews has he said he wants to play in the playoffs. For going on 7 years, all of his professional career his team has struggled to even get close to the playoffs.
Being an insider and player he knows more about the team and it's struggles to play good enough to be a playoff team.
He finally gets his wingman and the team then jettisons him. Those two got around 78 goals one season.
Maybe he is just done with the team, can't get up for the games. Becoming a "Professional" show up, play , get paid. Gets the same money regardless of success.
He is a person and people can get disenfranchised with their circumstances, it was okay for Miller why not him?
