First thing I thought of after the Pettersson trade was if they’d move on from Soucy.

Forbort’s played fine and you have D-Petey who looks fine.

Shift that salary elsewhere and maybe it’s in his best interest to regain form and ensure he gets ice time before he’s getting his next deal come 2026.

I really loved his play in 2023 but wasn’t the same in 2024 and still hasn’t regained that form yet.

With two lefties in Abby knocking on the door and a third likely on the way, he'll likely be gone this summer if not before.

Pettersson is listed as anywhere from 6'3" (Wiki) to 6'5" (CDC). But he is apparently shockingly light (175-179lb)!

My bad. Thanks. I thought he was taller but I misread hockey db. Well we got the height part covered. I like the fact that we got a player a little lighter on his skates anyway. It's possible to hide one or two bigger immobile guys but when you have 4 of them it makes us easy to play against in some regards.
