As mentioned by quite a few on social media, it's somewhat hilarious Pettersson and Miller are both still wearing an "A" when the President is out in the press saying you ruined the dressing room.

Each is boss of their own clique. So it makes sense each had an A as each represents half of the players.

Either that or they aren't assistant captains and the letters just are warnings. "A is for Antisocial"

A 'winnable game' against the lowly Preds, but who knows which version of the Vancouver Canucks will show up?

But if they get the result, it will be their first three-game winning streak in what seems like forever.

absolutely crazy that with the injuries, the Miller leave of absence, the Miller-pettersson drama and negative impact of Juulsen and Desharnais a win tonight puts them back into the wild card spot. Not quite by pt% but they would be behind Calgary by 0.001 (0.561 vs 0.560).

There is a decent team underneath the drama and mess on the back end.

Fighting for a WC#2 spot. Real progress. Making the playoffs is now worthy of a parade.

The players try their best to the most part.
The GM gives the coach what he wants for a group. The coach decides the line ups, roles, system and ice time allotment.

The Preds have won 7 of their last ten games and 5 of 6 last home games.
Team turmoil has won their last two.
Boeser has good games against them.

Another game to try to get the WC2 spot. Which team shows up?How many in a row can Lankinen play because he has been instrumental in their wins, almost stealing them.

I didn't say it was worthy of a parade or real progress. I simply said that despite all the crap that has happened that somehow the team has in some manner tread water. It's not a pat on the back worthy or anything. Far from it. But it is an indication of the underlying talent and capability of the roster.

Lankinen also hasn't really been stealing wins. He's played well but ultimately not spectacular. He's been solid but he isn't putting together a season even remotely worthy of Vezina consideration for instance (he's pretty much smack dab in the middle of goaltenders who have played 15 or more games on any stat..."normal" or advanced). Compared to Demko and Silovs he's been all world but not compared to the rest of the league.

Play Miller and Petey together at 5v5/PP/PK and especially if there's 3v3 OT.
Said this in another thread, I really feel it could get pettersson going. Less defensive responsibilities frees him up to just go out there and score, this way him and JT can figure it out plus he's not wasting away on the 3rd line.

Nashville, a team filled with old has-beens that should be doing a full rebuild. Istead of trading Forsberg, Josi and Saros while they still have value they waste another year.

Lankinen is the bonafide starter now. I don't expect Demko to ever be back to his former great self, unfortunately.

Having said that, the team going with Lankinen means they're not writing off the season quite yet, which is... interesting in light of everything that's been happening. Or maybe they're afraid Demko will fall apart on live TV and diminish whatever trade value he has left.
Demko starts...

Gotta think the management doesn't want to allow three wins in a row after the Day of Interviews yesterday.
