This is on him really, he wanted to get paid, they paid him and now he's underperforming so they have a tough choice before they're locked into him...he's put them in a tough position. If you're Pettersson after finding out this team tried to trade you again, are you playing hard for them?
Like, he's put in the defensive effort thus far, even if the offense has been bad. But now, maybe they lose the defense too?
It's time for Pettersson to decide: Quit on this management for good or show them they're idiots.
Anything is better than the ultra cringe lets go peteyHow cool would it be to get the jt miller chant going but alternate
J t miller clap clap, clap clap clap
E p 40 clap clap, clap clap clap
If that doesn't check a pulse I don't know what would
LOL. Why would he start now?If you're Pettersson after finding out this team tried to trade you again, are you playing hard for them?

I'm only watching because of Ovechkin and Quinn Hughes.
f*** everyone else.
LOL. Why would he start now?
They're not paying him $11.6 million for bad offense and a good defensive effort.
For $11.6 million, he should be giving the team and fans multiple 100 point seasons and the defensive effort.True, but at least they're getting the defense (effort). Does he have to give them even that much?
Yes that doesn't have the same girth to itAnything is better than the ultra cringe lets go petey
Hopefully that Rantanen trade signaled to both JT and EP that they're here to stay. Forever.
please win
Wow, you have managed, with some smoke and mirrors and a few damned statistics, to suggest that Lankinen hasn't had all that great a season this year while Demko hasn't really been all that bad. Demko has been terrible since his return with only a rare game where he gets even close to playing .900. He is giving up weak goals and has demonstrated time and again that his anticipation is way off and he cannot for the life of him control a rebound. Lankinen has basically been the main reason that we aren't already marooned in the league basement. If you want stats compare their save % and weep. How many more game do we need to give Demko until we reach a conclusion with him? We still have a shot at a playoff spot. Do we sacrifice the year playing Demko and risk pissing off Lankinen who might just get fed up and walk at year's end leaving us with a possibly ruined Demko and a totally demoralized Silovs? I double dog dare them...Really think Demko should start. More or less he needs to find his game or we are screwed, so might as well figure that out. Lankinen has played enough that we know that hes going to be great from the eye test but statistically be below average.
Demko is usually one of the top 5 in the league in high danger save percentage when hes healthy. Lankinen is third worst among goalies who have played 25 games at under 80%. His mid danger save percent is below average. But hes one of the top goalies in low danger save percent at nearly .960. So he saves the stuff he should but is one of the worst at making the saves (which isnt what the eye test says).
Also for the record, this is a team that USED to give up a lot of high danger chances, but of the goalies that have played 25 games, Lankinen has faced the fewest high danger chances (again, the eye test makes it seem like that cant be true). If Georgiev didnt exist then we'd have the guy with the worst underlying numbers.
We need Demko to find his game and make those high danger saves again, or we are cooked (or continue to be cooked). So I'm for him playing every game he can til its clear he does or doesnt have it and know how our trade deadline can go. Having the worst goaltending in the league 5 on 5 the same season that our goalie coach decides to step away from on ice coaching...seems to not be surprising at all.
You mean the tough choice they created by re-signing Miller.
Who on the team has performed at standard?
Pettersson is the lightning rod for much larger issues here. His play doesn't change the failing environment outside of him.
This is the first year of the contract, its unreasonable to expect multiple 100 point seasons in 1 seasonFor $11.6 million, he should be giving the team and fans multiple 100 point seasons and the defensive effort.
The sooner they trade him and Miller, the better.
He has scored 60 points in his last 82 regular season games, it's not unreasonable to expect a 100 point pace, and over the term of that contract, he absolutely should post multiple 100 point seasons. This is the first year of the contract, its unreasonable to expect multiple 100 point seasons in 1 season
Again year 1 of the contract, it isnt unreasonable that he will have multiple 100 point seasonsHe has scored 60 points in his last 82 regular season games, it's not unreasonable to expect a 100 point pace, and over the term of that contract, he absolutely should post multiple 100 point seasons.
Like I said, the sooner him and Miller are traded, the better.
Well, duh, technically, and it's unfortunate something as trivial as context and his defensive effort is all folks have at this point in time.Again year 1 of the contract, it isnt unreasonable that he will have multiple 100 point seasons
He scored at 100 point pace during Miller's time away. Might be worth seeing what it looks like after miller is traded.Well, duh, technically, and it's unfortunate something as trivial as context and his defensive effort is all folks have at this point in time.
When do you think he'll actually start ripping off points at 100 point pace? Or is that being unreasonable?
Yeah, that was a nice 10 games, hopefully the Canucks can leverage that to pump up his trade value. He scored at 100 point pace during Miller's time away. Might be worth seeing what it looks like after miller is traded.
