Also Raty was Playeroftheweek in the A, he should of been rewared but low event Karl is better for Tocc’s system of do nothing hockey.

Outcome of the game aside, the sabres are a fun team to watch. They've got some great defenders, Dahlin playing like a rover, they all activate etc.

JT Miller now has two Elias Petterssons to yell at!

I see that sycophantic post by the Oilers over the McDavid suspension has exploded on social media, and is the subject of withering ridicule around the league.

Connor Garland will be public enemy number one in Edmonton tomorrow night. But some might be wondering how a guy that small, managed to goad McDavid into taking a three-game suspension.

A couple of goals by Garland tomorrow night would rub salt into the wound.

The Oilers and McDavid himself have made this into such a big deal that every single opponent is going to be chirping and annoying him far into the future. It's hilarious.

But but but but he should care! He tried to murder McJesus! Garland is Pontius Pilot!

Even if the team isn’t good, we’ll always have a top tier entertaining HF Boards community

Thank goodness posters (mods) like Vector can carry* other posters (you know who you are, right @bandwagonesque ?)

Not sure why I am always a healthy scratch tho.

* and if anyone repeats that I said something nice about a mod, I will sue for defamation. All a guy's got is his rep, after all

You're a healthy scratch because you're just too toxic. Come on, it's right there in your username.

Hope the boys show up like they give a damn today.

JT will be glued to Drai. The rest of the team needs to be able to beat the rest of the Oilers.

who's gonna jump Garland?

Wait so they think they need to get some type of retribution on Garland for a holding or interference penalty because he got socked in the face? Go touch grass, man.
Why is everyone thinking they go after Garland? He will get special attention but it is Hughes and Hronek that will be centered on.

Draistl stated it's all part of the game except the crosschecking. He said that with a smile on his face.
The entire Oilers team has not mentioned that they are out to get Garland. Perry did talk about that kind of stuff happening in the past.

Going after Garland is not a good hockey tactic but Hughes, that's different because it makes good hockey sense and is part of the game.

IMO Tocchet didn't split the defence to make the team better, he did it so Hughes had a big guy as his line mate.

It's all part of the game right? Checks will be finished, face washing might be done like Garland did, while holding the stick (butt end)

Tocchet took pains to poke the bear a little hoping to get the Oliers to overreact but I think they will just play a very heavy game and the Canucks will take a lot of retaliation penalties, Soucy especially or whoever is Hughes partner.

There will be intention of hurting a player but if they get crushed by a late hit like Sherwood does well, we all saw Hughes evaporate in the playoffs and that was legal game play.

Nurse might let Garland bet him to the puck a few times or some other dman.

The Oilers don't have to win this game, they don't NEED the points to make the real season.
The Canucks do, they will need around 48 points and there are only 70 pts available. They can't lose more than 5 regulation games to have a sniff.
For the Oilers this might a a "message" game to the rest of the league that if the refs won't police the game they will not tolerate their stars being jumped, held and tackled.
No cross checks but a very heavy game, they have time to recover from any unfortunate injuries that might occur or suspensions that could come. The Canucks can't have any top half of the team players out of the lineup

The score, I don't think it is going to matter all the talk will be about the reffing

Why would the team need 48 points the rest of the way? There’s no chance 98 is the cutoff in the West this year. Probably like 92 or something. There’s only 7 good teams in the West
