Another crushingly disappointing loss by a team that really isn't going anywhere this year.
I know there's a lot of angst about the top-six forward group. By my issue is with the bottom of the roster forwards. Heinen, Blueger, Suter, Hoglander on too many nights, Di Giuseppe with his first of the season; Sasson and anyone else they throw out there.
They don't generate offense. They don't get much O-zone time; and they're just slow and feeble in puck battles in their own zone. It was a clean faceoff loss by Blueger and poor coverage that led to the winner by the Sabres. Just an awful loss to a team playing its second game in 24 hours after being blitzed in Seattle.
Really hope that by March there's an infusion of youth. Raty, Lekkerimaki, Wilander and maybe Elias Pettersson need to be getting some NHL games under their belts.
