Say what you will about EP, he's one of the few guys we have who consistently gives Quinn an outlet. Too many guys on this team don't understand that if they give Quinn options they're going to score points.

To be fair, Quinn shit the bed on that tying goal. You can't leave your man in front to chase behind the net. His partner went into the corner on the side that Buffalo had possession on, that was the right play even if he didn't make as much contact as he wanted. It means you have to stay in front. He didn't even have to body his man, he could have just defended the low-high pass.

Another crushingly disappointing loss by a team that really isn't going anywhere this year.

I know there's a lot of angst about the top-six forward group. By my issue is with the bottom of the roster forwards. Heinen, Blueger, Suter, Hoglander on too many nights, Di Giuseppe with his first of the season; Sasson and anyone else they throw out there.

They don't generate offense. They don't get much O-zone time; and they're just slow and feeble in puck battles in their own zone. It was a clean faceoff loss by Blueger and poor coverage that led to the winner by the Sabres. Just an awful loss to a team playing its second game in 24 hours after being blitzed in Seattle.

Really hope that by March there's an infusion of youth. Raty, Lekkerimaki, Wilander and maybe Elias Pettersson need to be getting some NHL games under their belts.

buffalo were terrible and ripe for the taking. we took the opportunity to back off once we went up two.

all the magic from last year is gone. even hughes is sagging. the only bright light is pettersson seems motivated and energetic for some mysterious unknowable reason. probably had a great pre-game meal.

1st line is starting to find chemistry, Hoglander played great, 4th line was solid. 2nd line was terrible, Garland was useless tonight, not a good fit offensively with Miller. Demko still looks shaky. Team needs to play with more speed and creativity.

@LordBacon

You're confusing 'good' with 'great', my friend. Don't want to really be celebrating a 'good' game, but we get what we get lol.

Have you tried drugs and alcohol?

Because....they don't work.

Self-medicating anger and depression with booze and drugs is like pissing your pants on a cold night to stay warm. Feels pretty good at first but doesn't work long term.

I was 100% sure that we were going to beat this bums since they are the worst team in the east. This shows you how terrible SJ and Chicago are.

Overall this defence looked slightly better. More actual passes to forwards rather than just bouncing it out and having to play defence again right away. Soucy still struggling mightily but IMO Hronek makes a big difference even when he's obviously not up to speed still.

Again, they need to put a puck mover on each pair. This 'twin towers" shit only works when the towers are competent.

everytime they pass the puck they pass it like it’s a drop pass

i swear hughes is the only player on the team who passes the puck with purpose

Cole and Zadorov had better outlet passes. Our D flat out sucks and have zero vision. Forwards are playing deeper in our zone trying to bridge a gap which leaves us being out numbered in the neutral zone.

It's like Travis Green hockey again.

Tell you what, I'm sure getting sick of hearing the announcer say "...and the shot goes right through Demko...". Third game in a row , a gimmie against the worst team in the East and he pulls out an .885 game... which is still better than his previous two. Just give him TIME...
